How do you spot a lag switch?
I was just in a game with a freddy who had a 50-80 ping never saw it go over 100, so pretty good. I go into the game and have no problems but the moment I'm getting chased I start lagging and flying around the map, this only happened when I was getting chased and it seems really suspicious. I'm not one to jump to hacks or lag switch, but this just seems really obvious, but I don't really know what to kind in this situation so I came here to see if anybody who has more game experience could shed some light on the matter.

I merely want to find out for next time as I don't think I can do anything about it now.

If he beat you, he was lag switching.

You will know it when you get teleported to the other side of the map and get downed without the killer even being close.

You messed up at looping, must have been a laggswitch.
Make sure to report that killer so that devs cant filter out the actual meaningful reports

This happened to me two matches in a row yesterday what you encountered was certainly lag switching. He was the same player but played as separate killers I guess to seem less suspicious. He just started doing it when the game wasn't going his way it's ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ pathetic and lame. Funny part was when he downed me he stood there on top of me until I bled out to try waste my time. Jokes on him I tabbed out and continued my YouTube vid so basically he only wasted his own time xd.

Game is not going in the way you want?
Survivor => DC
Killer => laggswitch

I wish devs would introduce harsher penalties, but this would require actual balance, no bugs and probably a casual mode aswell

There's different kinds of lag.
If you suddenly teleport or get stuck in an animation and the killer downs you, that's almost certainly a lag switch. From the killers POV when they lagswitch, survivors stay in place and cannot move for some time, allowing for free hits. I know this because a friend of mine showed me in a KYF game what lagswitching looked like.

If you're consistently rubberbanding everywhere it's probably not, but instead Chinese internet connection from the host. I've gotten in games where before it started, killer can have 90 ping but Chinese internet ingame, and 200 ping but completely fine connection ingame.

It would also require dedicated serv- oh wait they already said ♥♥♥♥ that they're not doing it.
depends, laf isnt always apparent but becomes worse when the killer is close to you, so you might have been lagging all match but didnt notice

What he described was lag switching it's very obvious once you know what it looks like you freeze and get stuck mid animation then you get hit and the killer appears to teleport next to you or you to him.

As have I but it's very easy to tell the difference usually the killer who is lag switching will only 'lag' when they want to hit a surv. other times during chase and throughout the match the connection will be perfect.
