The store is fine, you can get almost everything for free with putting time into it. Don't make it seem like league is fair with their price as they have skins that are almost recolours for 10 bucks.
Yes. As of 8 hours ago you can now earn all the dlc in DBD for free. Yay for the new players.

I've been playing League of Legends for years, and the hextech loot system is one of the worst things to ever happen to that game.
I assume you're referring to that though since you can occassional earn skins through those loot boxes.
There's a caveat though.
You need to first earn the loot box, and when you unlock it you don't get to pick which skin you get. It is RNG, you can even get a skin you already own. If you do get a skin you like then you need orange essence in order to unlock it permanently. You can disenchant those cosmetic items for orange essence if you don't like them, or you can take 3 skin shards and reroll them into a random skin permanent.
That's assuming the loot box you unlocked gave you a skin shard and not a ward shard or a champion shard.
Quite misleading, wouldn't you say?
On top of that let's look at how you optain RP. $10 of RP gets you 1380, which is a smidge above the cost of higher quality skins. Let's say you purchase a 975 RP skin though. That only leaves you with 405 RP which won't get you anything else except a chroma or an icon or something like that.
Exactly, people honestly just want to pull apart DBD for any reason. I am 100% on board the 'balance the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ game' train however people need to take a step back and realise the store is MOSTLY FREE. ♥♥♥♥ me people MOBAs do shops worse than DBD does.
Saying it is possible to earn skins in League for free is misleading? Did i lie? You can.
The reason league has a system set up like that is to entice users to buy their loot box crap. It is quite smart from a marketing perspective, but evil from a gaming perspective.
Like OP's post though it is far from that straightforward.

A.) Do not guarantee you'll get the skin you want or you could get a duplicate.
B.) You may not even unlock a skin. You could get a ward shard or worse.
C.) You have to unlock the item with orange essence which requires you to spend or disenchant more cosmetic shards. Or you can use 3 skin shards to unlock a random skin permanent.
The reason they offer the loot boxes is not out of the kindness of their hearts. It is because they want you to buy into their BS loot box system.
What i said is not misleading at all. Regardless of the explaination you CAN earn league skins for free with no cost to the consumer. Hence why i earned scorched earth xerath for ZERO dollars.
I didn't feel like explaining the Hextech store system but what i said still stands as true.
