I miss the days when DBD was scary
I remember opening the game, spooked, and while waiting in the killer's lobby scared from what is expected to me and the fellow survivors who are in my lobby, hearing this(without watching the video but with closed eyes): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hWXmw9x473I
reminded me these days, it was so fun back then, nobody was very salty and you were actually afraid of the killer, I really wish it was still like this, a friend I used to play with quit the game about 4 months ago, he had enough, it was no longer fun for him and now I too have stopped playing dbd, it's just not fun anymore, whether I play surv or killer, survivor feels easy, and when I say It's not fun and easy I mean it's not fun for me to loop around a giant killer who has weapons around a pile of wood and some broken structures, I liked being stealthy, it's still possible now but feels much less rewarding than gaining a 1000bp for stunning a killer with a pallet, ONCE, and when I play killer the difficulty is just annoying me, I reached rank 1 killer not too long ago and I must say, I'm not built for this kind of stress and probably neither does anyone else who plays killer, it's not fun.

Please make this game scary again, with the new DLC, the pig, gives me that feeling once again, for the short period of 3 seconds after she ambushes you, because after that you reach a pallet and it returns to normal once again.

The big, big difference between now and then is that you know how broken it was. Nothing changed.
I remember some things from the beta, like a dwight on the ironworks of misery t-bagging me because he knew how safe it was, and obviously going to infinite me if I were to chase him.
And some other dwight following me while I was carrying someone (literally sprinting behind me) and then unhooking as soon as I would start to set a trap. This game was never not survivor favoured. It just heavily depends on how good you are and with what people you play with.

I played with a friend yesterday, she has like 6 hours ingame and shes ♥♥♥♥ scared. Even someone with like 100 hours today is still scared. Just because theyre not good enough
They stop being scared when they learn how to utilize this game's many portly designed mechanics.

Whether it be pallet looping, infinites or meta perks the power shift is insane once they get these.

Yet, they still sell the game as if the killer rank role fulfills that power fantasy.

It does. If youre new. Horror isnt always scary. If this game scares you for a 100 hours, thats great. A horror movie only usually does it for 2.
Every game loses it's scary aspects after a while of playing. No game-changing updates are going to change that. You just get used to it.
Once this game if ever works out the balancing issues and rightfully wretches the control from the survivors is when this game will be scary. The survivors should feel helpless against the killer, fearful of getting spotted. The killer should be an unstoppable force with the only way to survive them is to remain hidden, use stealth and make every move a calculated one.
many people here don't get what I mean, I meant that the game isn't scary because when you see the killer you know you are completley safe with your pallets, but a couple days ago I was playing survivor with a controller (and I never use a controller) and the effect was actually back, I was afraid of getting into chases, I tried to keep myself invisible and stealthy and it was the best match I had in a long time, I even escaped at the end of it.
and why was it scary using the controller? when in chase I ran into objects and when I was gonna throw a pallet I didn't know what button was it (untill later) and that sense of being powerless a survivor, AS it should be, was the scary thing, and Iv'e seen that hillbilly who chased me hundreds of times, yet, I was still scared from him (when saying hillbilly I refer to the killer not to the person playing as the hillbilly at that match).

I think what the OP means the tension is completely gone. When something is an actual threat, tension usually builds. Currently survivors have so many ways to get scott free and be safe from killers for large periods of time. The tension is gone because even totally suicidal and horrible survivors know they can stall for tons of time just running in literal circles.

yeah but there used to be infinites? You could have ran in a circle for 3 hours and still not get hit, even if the killer played perfectly

DBD never was scary ... the B-Movie Story, the graphic, the third person view and the heartbeat took every horror aspect this game could had have

B-Movie story? In comparison to Three-Headed-Shark-Attack, the DbD-storyline is something people like Voltaire, Goethe or Descartes would have written or thought about.

So you mean that every known Killer is invited by the entity to kill while 4 random people are invited into an arena to be killed and everyone gets a reward by the entity isnt a B-Movie Story?

It's about a vicious cycle of the entity feasting on the hope of the survivors, while abusing the already hopeless and emotionally numb to obtain every inch of hope they have until they also become killers. Can be easy made into a metaphor for human societies/nature. But, you know, it's just a B-Movie.

at the time I was in a lower rank (20-10), I didn't see many people use infinites and it was scary to see the killer, at least for me and for my friend.
its a tom and jerry simulator

You're literally only getting scared because a new mechanic was introduced to you.
The new mechanic was playing on a controller VS keyboard and mouse.
You'll probably only be scared for another 24hours then you'll be adjusted to controller.

It just sounds like you want a whole new chapter that introduces something new and different.
Something that isn't RBT
Something that isn't instant downs
Something that isn't small/no terror radius
Something that isn't a new form of traps
Something that isn't speed moving abilities
Something that isn't a new form of tracking survivor

To be honest I was hoping for more with this SAW dlc but there's only so much you can do with license and a character from a slasher series.

There's a lot the Dev's can discuss but Im sure they've gone over it plenty of times like
-new hiding spots
- 1st person mode
-no terror radius/red stain for killers
-no perks aka iron man

but if I get used to the controlls, and there won't be pallets or pallets won't be as safe then yes I would be scared from getting into chases, if stealth will be rewarded we will be seeing much more people playing stealthily, it makes me feel like an idiot when survs are stealthy and i can't find them, but I defiantly enjoy stealth more than "tank" like not_quee called the aggressive players.
