Who are the base game killers?

Trapper, Hillbilly, Wraith, Nurse and Huntress are included in the base game.

Billy, Huntress, and Nurse are the most noteworthy of the bunch for being some of the top tier killers in the game. The default selection won't let you down.

True, that is also relevant. For a list, Hag, Doctor, Clown, Spirit, Legion and Plague can be unlocked through grinding shards.

Huntress is "included". Hag and Doc for example are "free" if you buy the PS/Xbox-version of the game. PS/Xboxgames are more expensive than the 20$ on steam, so you get few DLCs for "free" with the basegame.

You get a few base game killers which have been mentioned they do have sales every so often for the DLC which are a good time to get them.

If you play Killer you kinda have to get BBQ DLC (leatherface)

it gives KIllers double bloodpoints once unlocked.
Sad thing is you basically need it to keep addon supply going.

If you dont use BBQ you will not have enough bloodpoints to supply Level 50 Killers with constant addons

Any killer/survivor that is not from a licensed property can be unlocked from a bit of grinding. So something like Ghost Face or Myers will always cost money, but someone like Deathslinger or Twins, for example, will always be unlockable by grinding for shards.
