Why doesn't autodidact work with medkits/selfcare anyway?
I mean, first of all, it doesn't say it wouldn't work with self-healing, as it simply says "survivors," whereas an even more obvious perk, Deliverance, clarifies "Another survivor."
But really, why would it even be that good? The heal speed of the medkit kind of overrides the need for AD, so you're kind of wasting either the perk slot or the medkit doing it. It seems they only put it in to counter self-healing with the perk? But then why not just use Botany Knowledge, which works for all types of healing, including self-care, medkits, and regular heals, and on top of that, can make medkits last longer! Why does this perk have this restriction? I guess some people would consider it OP with selfcare, but it would have about the same effect as BK from the looks of it, and require two perk slots to be used that way. Maybe it would be OP? I dunno.

I mean, I'm not trying to say survivors are in desperate need of buffs, but this perk just doesn't make any logical sense in the way it's set up. It just looks like We'll make it, but.... worse?

It doesn't work with medkits because they probably can't figure out a way to have the progress made via Autodidact not detract from the medkit's charges, and they knew people would complain. That and/or because medkits have addons that increase skillcheck frequency.

It doesn't work on Self Care because you'd easily hit near max stacks on your first heal and then getting hit has no consequence. Instantly pick up and heal teammates and whenever you need to heal yourself, it only takes a couple seconds.

Self Care is supposed to be slow in exchange for infinite healing. Autodidact is supposed to be a medic perk for your teammates. It's just a niche perk for RNG junkies who want to heal others.
