Couldn't get the rights to the Scream movie(s) material?

Who the hell is Jed Olsen? Where's Stu or Billy Loomis? Why is there no Sidney Prescott or a Woodsboro map? Did they make this deal with Funworld and not Dimension and thats why they got the mask, but none of the other material? Pretty lame honestly. I would love to see Neve Campbell (Sidney Prescott) join the game.

That's exactly it. They got the rights to the mask, not the movie. And even the movie had to get rights to the mask. So it'd be twice as many hoops to get all the movie goodies in DBD.

I personally think this works just fine, Ghostface isn't one distinct individual, they never have been. Its always been a big point of the persona that it is just that, a persona. Anyone can be behind the mask, for any reason. So personally I like the fact that its their own unique killer in a sense and not just some other licensed character from a movie. As nice as it would have been to see the other things from the Scream franchise hit the game its not necesary. Ghostface is just fine by himself, and I'm glad he's here at all.

Im loving the character, but the one consistency with all the Ghost Face Killers was that they went after Sidney Prescott. So it just feels wrong to have him here without her.

The first three or four went after Sidney exclusively for various reasons. The following ones not exclusively sidney, and if they did chose to go after Sidney it was for the clout behind it. Eventually they did diverge at some point, kinda just becoming like a cult like persona in a way.

There were only 4 movies. The last one being in 2011. After that Wes Craven passed.

Well freddy is freddy, the skin is the remake ok but it is freddy. Myers is myers , jason is jason, but ghostface can be anyone even multiple people. That said, i do find annoying that his thing is stalking here when the whole ghostface thing was phone calling his victims to scare them.

I do wish they implemented his whole phone thing. Like a pebble like perk where you could activate it and if someone was within a certain vicinity their phones would go off quickly and you could get a general idea of where they are by following the noise.
