HDD SSD Question
Hey guys! I need some space on my HDD for Red Dead 2 and I am considering moving DBD to HDD. Does anyone has some experience on how bad it is on HDD or is there no difference?
Thx for any quick response!

OK Thanky You Very Much! :-)
I feared that it has some gameplay impact (like lagging)

Menu navigation feels more responsive with an SSD. Loading is also better with an SSD. It doesn’t really affect gameplay.

Thank you for the quick response!
The most important part for me is that it has no gameplay impact!
Thanks!

Theres no point in putting DbD on a SSD. You got to wait for other players anyway so theres no point in loading in quick.

yes, I just feared the gameplay impact! I had some bad experience with an MOBA that would lag every 5 sec for split a second. It was so bad that I had to move it back to SSD

I used to use one of my HDD's for this game but recently upgraded my PC and got a larger M.2 drive so DBD is now on that. I honestly don't notice any significant difference in loading time so I would think you should be fine too.

I have RDR2 downloading ready for when I get home, can't wait! :)

so painfull! my rig is not very strong so I will low settings the game until I can replay it with better settings. The ssd is also only 256GB

Oh yeah 256gb isn't much these days, my old SSD was 256gb and it was a constant struggle to keep space on it! Home now waiting for RDR to 'decrypt' :/

Oh nvm, now after 10+ minutes of decrypting it now has decided it wants to download another 30gb or so! Kinda defeats the point of preloading the game so I could play it when I get home.

Guess I won't be playing it today now :(

Yeah it takes 115gb but for some reason it downloaded 80gb or so then made me decrypt then starting downloading again, which is really annoying. I thought the 80gb it had downloaded must have been compressed and would expand to the 115gb stated but apparently not.

Just a word of advice regarding your SSD, you should always keep 10% of your SSD empty, so if you only have 130gb spare you are only going to have 15gb spare. It isn't good for your drives and more annoyingly will make it a lot slower :)

Oh wow thank you for that tip! I did not knew that at all! Is it exactly 10% or the bare minimum?

Well near enough, some say 15% but I always go for 10% and that seems to be fine
