I don't believe tho, they got the license for the mask, and any licensed character is only bought with auric or through dlc

they wanted the rights for the SCREAM movies, but scream don't own the mask, a company how make them does. so they could only get the mask and not the rights for the scream films, thats way they say it half there own and half lince, so this has nothing to do with the scream movies, just the mask.

This rather sounds like a "Scream Chapter" would have been possible if they would have bought a second licence for "Scream" too. But why spend more money to release a full chapter for 6,99 € when you can as well release a single character DLC for 4,99 € as well?
The way how they implement Ghost Face feels realy lazy. No survivor and no map. And they still call it a "chapter". When they told the lore for him during the 3rd anniversy stream it had nothing to do with "Scream" at all. "Scream" wasn't even mentioned once. It was rather disappointing.
The reason people like Ghost Face is not just because of the mask. It's because of the role it played in the "Scream" franchise.

There were what, 8 different killers in the movies? It would be hard to create a specific character from the movie lore unless they just go with Billy from the first movie.

Yes, as the first movie was the real classic the guy behind the mask would have been Billy. As survivor they could have taken Tatum. (Not Sidney as she's still alive and all characters in DbD are dead already. Well, we have a still alive character with Ash for some reason.) As map they could have taken Stu's house. That would have been really cool.
But a Ghost Face only DLC that has nothing to do with "Scream"? I actually find that kind of lame.

Actually scream was mentioned in the stream, I am not sure if this was an intended pun but "then you gonna scream". I really dont remember the exact words.

I don't really get why you are so disappointed about it I like that we will have cosmetics for ghostface not like other licensed killers who will just have prestige and that is it.

But in the first movie it is 2 killers, billy&stu so why take one other the other? I don't care for survivors anyway so I am fine with that just being a killer.

fact is I believe the game still did a good job making it close to scream as possible, they added the knife clean technique from the movies, same knife type, similar style of character with them posting the killings like scream 4, and overall the kit is exactly how I'd imagine ghostface, so stop complaining, atleast we got the character
