Waving arms on the hook
I’ve been off of these forums for about a year so I don’t know if things have changed but last I heard waving arms on the hook mean you’re being camped. I’m seeing people do this all the time even when killer isn’t camping. Does this mean something else now?

To me it still means they're being camped. So if they aren't being camped and they wave their arms around, sucks for them. :special:

no, it is the same meaning. newer players decided to dilute the original meaning.
that is not to say it hasn't evolved as such, short constant spamming is "killer is close, etc" long one is "come save" basically.

though there are those who will spam no matter the situation. so take from that what you will.

Lol there’s different meanings depending on the length of the wave? I guess that makes sense but I’m not paying that close of attention. If arms are waving I’m doing gens.

basically. idk how it got to the point of length equals situation, but it did. (i won't lie, if they spam constantly i will ignore them, even if i am close on gen)
you can't make a "universal arm wave" language and expect everyone to follow it. Don't judge if someone's being camped based on their arm movement.

Oh it's very easy to judge. I see arms waving, regardless of length, I'll continue on gens.

To me, flailing arms means 'killer is close, keep doing gens." and so, I keep doing gens. If they are flailing for any other reason well, too bad for them.

I just hate it when survivors wave their arms but the killer isn’t camping them so I ignore saving them to only find out secs later that the killer did not camp them and was running towards me on a gen-_-

There's 2 reasons why:

1. Killer is camping and hooked wants you to know (this is a replacement for kindred)
2. Survivor wants to be unhooked and is just being impatient

For me it's

Quickly waving hands = Camp
Almost finishing Attempt Unhook = Grab my Armpits

See? You're going to get ignored by the more veteran players then because they'll think you're being camped.

I also do it to warn a potential savior of traps. If he's close and running straight to trap I wave arms frantically to make him aware of that danger.
Often does not work though...
