Is Ash worth it?
I love Evil Dead since I was a kid and seeing him here is nice and all but is he actually worth buying?

“WorTh it” well if you don’t care about mettle of man then I guess not, I immediately bought him though because his movies are classics and I don’t play the other survivors ever since unless it’s an all Claud urban troll squad

MOM did get nerfed BUT it also got buffed vs things like preventing Noed from downing you in the healthy state now which is a somewhat decent trade off

If you like the character, sure why not.

A cash grab soon to be nerfed, a scam.

I see all survivors as just a skin. Their perks arent worth buying the character for, you can eventually get them for free in the shrine.

That being said, I bought ash when he came out. I'm a huge evil dead fan and love to play as ash when I'm playing survivor.

MoM wasn't really nerfed it was just reworked, it could hypothetically be stronger than before because the injured requirement no longer exists so that means it protects against the exposed effect now (I think). Your playstyle just shifts when using the perk because you have to be more altruistic, which I think falls in line with the characters personality anyway.

In my personal and humble opinion Ash is worth it, simply and solely for the fact that it actually is Ash Williams and they were able to get the likeness for Bruce Campbell himself, unlike Laurie Strode, Quentin Smith, etc. As well Bruce Campbell actually voices the character, so everything is really him. If you're a fan it would make sense to get

If it's something like you're choosing between two DLC's though, and you're comparing Survivor perks, aside from MoM Ash doesn't have much going for him. Then again even that's better than some survivors, some don't really have any perks that stand out in the meta, like David Tapp. Each perk has its use though and can function very well in certain builds. If you're not in an in-between choice for Ash and another survivor and you're just looking at Ash, I would get him.

Paragraph DLC's are cheaper than normal ones anyway.

Survivors are skins. That being said you should be buying characters based on if you'd enjoy using them or not. If you play survivor often enough and love Evil Dead then get him.

In all honesty though you should decide this on your own without our input too much. It's your money and decision in the end.

First of all every survivor is the same technically. They have no special powers. They have different cosmetics and teachable perks. When the teachable perks are unlocked every other survivor can use it so they all become equal in the end.
If you like how Ash looks in the game then get the DLC. If you get Ash then you can make his teachable perks available to other survivors quicker by leveling him up. Otherwise you can wait for your favorite Ash teachable perk to appear in the Shrine of Secrets (which happens randomly so you can't count on it) and buy it for 2500 iridescent shards (2000 shards when Ash won't be new thing at all. Every teachable perk for newer DLCs cost 2500 shards).

Ash's teachable perks are:

1) Buckle Up - Auras of downed survivors become whiter as they recover showing you how much they have recovered and when you heal them up to the injured state the killer's aura is revealed to you for 6 seconds.

This perk isn't awesome. It will only be useful if the killer is slugging a survivor which is not
common.

2) Flip Flop - When you get downed 50% of your recovered health in that state will fill up your wiggle bar when the killer picks you up to hook you.

This perk is amazing only when the killer will slug you. If paired with Unbreakable and Tenacity it works really good especially if the killer is forced to slug. To make the killer slug you, you can sabotage hooks, have a survivor distract the killer or use Decisive Strike and if the killer knows that you might have it and its active then they will slug you.

3) Mettle of Man (Currently) - After getting hit from the killer's basic attack 3 times the perk activates. When you would be in the injured state any hit that would put you in the dying state will be ignored. Once you get fully healed after using the perk your aura is revealed to killer when you are 14 meters away from them. Aura reveal ends once you get put in the dying state.
Mettle of Man (PTB version to be applied in the live version on June 18th) - After performing safe unhooks or taking protective hits 3 times the perk activates. Any hit that would put you in the dying state is ignored. Once you get fully healed after using the perk your aura is revealed to killer when you are 14 meters away from them. Aura reveal ends once you get put in the dying state.

This perk is amazing. Probably considered as good as the old Decisive Strike by some and that is why its getting changed (not really nerfed) in the next update. This perk can save you so easily and when paired with other good perks like Adrenaline, Decisive Strike, Dead Hard, Deliverance or Decisive Strike it can be too good. I have made Killers rage a few times by running the last 4 perks mentioned above because when they are used in a special way it becomes really hard for the killer. The only counter to it is if you are going against a killer that will use their power to hit you and not the basic weapon attack. The aura reveal doesn't usually matter that much. If MoM becomes active near the end the match then you'll be safe but if you get it to activate earlier then you may have a hard time.

The new Mettle of Man will actually be better but harder to achieve. Now you have to unhook someone safely or take a protective hit (block a killer who is carrying a survivor and make them hit you) to get one stack. When you'll get 3 stacks it becomes active. One bad thing about the old MoM was that it would only work when you were injured so if the killer had any ability or perk that would put you in the dying state instantly when you would be fully healed the perk would become useless. Now though MoM will activate whether you are injured or fully healed which is amazing.

MoM is getting gutted so you have to get protection hits and can still be instadowned so its actually not worth buying the character anymore unless you really want to play as him.

It's not being gutted because it's not just protection hits, it's also safe unhooks, it's honestly not going to be that hard to get MoM stacks if anything it might be easier than it was before. The only difference is you have to actually do "work" from some peoples perspectives, rather than just being "bad"

I see this as horizontal movement for the perk, not a true actual nerf. Especially since they got rid of the injured requirement, which means it protects against instadowns if I'm not mistaken

If you are a fan of the stuff he was in, yes. The perks can be moved around between all and any character you play. You just have to unlock them.

Its a good survivor. I would give it a thumbs up and a good purchase

lmao survivors are not just skins, all them have diferent basic stats same than killers ppl that just force the same meta perks in all survivors later DC cuz dont know how they losed with the best perks of the games, for example Bill its super slow you can test with your friends, put sprint on Bill and Meg and make a race, Bill will be always more slow than Meg even with sprint burst, and that happens with all them, overall all the first girls like Meg or Nea have more base speed, not to metion you cant change the skin of Bill so you have to stick with his camo clothes and play more ninja style, Ash its a lot biguer and its lot more easy to spot than Claudette for example so needs more die hard perks.

Ash in the film is a hero, and in this game he hangs on a meat hook like a piece of meat, and the killer looks into his eyes and waits 2 minutes ...
