EASY ANTI CHEAT SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I got into a game and the killer dc'ed, but the game didnt end on my end. so, i force quit out of the game. now easy anti cheat will not let me back in the game, because it says that i am already running the game when i clearly have force quit the game. I tried uninstalling the game and reinstalling it but it didnt work. I tried reinstalling anti cheat that did not work.it says that there are files missing and a game is already running, but i cannot seem to get them ever though i tried verifying files and reinstalling anti cheat. PLEASE GET RID OF THIS CRAPPY ANTI CHEAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That could be a Steam bug where games sometimes remain "running" for Steam status. If you close the game you are currently playing does Steam say that you are running Dead by Daylight then?

If it does go to the install folder and launch the game directly from it's own executable, ..Steam\steamapps\common\Dead by Daylight\DeadByDaylight.exe

Running it once should fix it, if that is the correct issue.

EDIT: Instead of Steam error you get EAC error because EAC doesn't allow two instance at once to be ran, and Steam doesn't show an error if it's caused by a bug.

People already did. But OP's complaint of EAC derailed his own topic by more or less outing himself as a likely cheat. True or not in this case, the vast majority of problems from EAC comes from cheating so we tend to assume cheating.


He needs to find the process and end it manually. DbD or EAC can be stuck and are blocking another copy from opening. Sometimes it's just going into Task Manager and ending it there in the background processes.

Maybe it's Steam bugged out. In that case run the game's .exe or restart Steam.

If neither work, rebooting the PC is guaranteed to fix a stuck program. Cant be stuck running if the PC is off. Only then after all else failed do you need to uninstall anything. Not just parts or a few files, the entire game. If a reinstall is needed then the files are already ♥♥♥♥♥♥, no need to make it worse.

If nothing worked at all. You lied about something. Likely got flagged for tampering the files from homebrew "fixes" or simply got caught cheating and looking for an out.

Im kinda tired of reading over these stupid and bogus replies on people outing him and calling him a hack or just assuming he was tampering with the files to begin with, after all this game is quite known for its lousy coding, numerous amounts of bugs, and special community... If he was tampering or doing any of the idiotic things you are all talking about then why in gods name would he bother posting a discussion about it and ask people for help on trying to fix a problem created by attempting to cheat in the game which would likely lead to a ban. My point in all of this is to sincerely say that you guys who are jumping to conclusions and just assuming he is tampering with files are dumb instead of trying to help provide good ideas on how to fix the problems idiots who don't know what the problem is just assume he was cheating and write it off, but no this is just another bug from the great dead by daylight devs and its gonna get washed away and swept under the rug like all the other ones lmao.

This. It's amazing how many people don't understand internet basics. I had a SWF group of 4 tell me to "get real internet" and "stop playing on a toaster". And then I went and watched one of their streams (because TTV user name) to see what they were seeing, and what do you know... they are laggy alright, but also 3 of them were streaming the game (possibly all 4, but I couldn't find the 4th). Yeah played against a YTber that i liked back in the days. He camped the sh*t out of one guy and it was laggy af bec,he admitted he was watching two streams, how selfish and dumb do you need to be to do stuff like that

And yes, DbD is buggy. But those are gameplay bugs. This is a system problem in his PC. It started from DbD locking up as the Killer DCed, but the OP got inpatient and likely caused the problem himself. For all we know the Killer didn't DC and DbD had nothing to do here. OP's PC or internet could have ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up and it looked like he or the Killer DCed. That can also explain the game locking up afterwards. Something not normal for DCs as DbD is FILLED with DCers and they tend to not crash the game.

youre actually so brain dead i was playing with friends who dced but my game didnt end and it continued to try to load so i waited about 5-7 mins but my friends were getting impatient, so i forced quit the game through task manager. this is not a problem with my pc. Im not an idiot ranting about this for no reason. also i think the anticheat is good sometimes but it causes way more problems than is worth. im not saying get rid of it and keep it that way just come up with a better way that keeps this stuff from happening.

Lag switching is in the game because of the peer2peer system and if anti-cheat was to detect slight lag spikes as lag switching there would be way more cases of people being banned unfairly.
Besides dedicated servers should come out with next chapter so there won't be any lag switches anymore.
