I've spent a whole lot of hours figuring out how to make this game work correctly. When I first started playing I couldn't even spin smoothly while standing still without the character kind of speeding up and down make it quite jerky and annoying no matter if I had vsync off or on, or if I had 30 FPS or 120 FPS and it annoyed me so much along with dozens of other little things that I finally just decided to figure out what in the hell was happening. After a lot of testing I discovered that it's quite difficult to get true rock steady FPS and frametimes in this game, it is really almost impressive how terrible it can be but once you achieve FPS and FrameTimes that do not change even slightly regardless of what you're doing or what is happening in the game, then it really blows your mind how awesome it can be when it works correctly.
What settings are you using? Such as in game settings, videocard settings, changes you've made in the ini files, what resolution and refresh rate are you using, etc.
What FPS and FrameTimes are you getting in tutorial vs an actual match?
Taking the moonwalking as example you will notice that if you play against a killer with a high ping it becomes almost impossible to moonwalk.
My refresh rate is 144hz on my Benq monitor and i'm at 1080p resolution with the latest nvidia drivers for my overclocked 1080ti with an overclocked 5820k cpu as well (have tested with an without the overclocks and things are the same so I just leave them on for the extra free performance in games that I get). It's not a huge deal if I can't moonwalk in game but yeah just would be nice to show off to my mates every now and then haha :P.Thanks for the help anyway <3.
this.
latency and frame rate are huge factors with regards to moonwalking
not sure if you have the same experience but with me my fps is always fluctuating, in some maps on some days i can easily hit 100fps then sometimes im in the high 60's, ive stopped trying to make sense of it
ive seen people say locking the fps to 50 makes it easier to moonwalk, whether you're willing to play the game like that is on you
