PS4 Controller On PC With Big Picture Mode Not Working?

I have been trying to use my ps4 controller with bluetooth and a wire and yet it wont work ingame. The controller works just fine while navigating the big picture mode yet the second I start up dead by daylight the game refuses to actually let me move unless I use mouse and keyboard. Does anyone have an idea on what could solve this?

Yes.
Download DS4Windows.
Most games do not support PS4-Controllers, so DS4Windows will make it seem like a XBox(?) controller, which gets supported by 90% of the games.

I use a ps4 controller right through steam. Go to the controllet preferences and make sure ps4 controller support is enabled. I also make sure the other boxes are unchecked because when i had xbox controller support enabled it would mess up my ps4 controller in game. I do use a cable though as the bluetooth adapter i had would cut in and out. It was a cheap dongle though.

DS4Windows should also work but ive never had to use it for playing in steam.
