HWID ban and monitor

Hi,
A friend of mine gave me his old but still good monitor to me because he is upgrading, unfortunately he is HWID (hardware ID) banned on his computer. I really like DBD and been playing it for years and don't want to get an hwid ban because I play on his monitor. Am I safe or should I just use my own monitor? Really want to connect it rn.

Pretty sure only their motherboard and CPU are affected by HWID ban. You can use their monitor safely.

tough question, I'm pretty sure every monitor have Hardware ID, and that's it's used in whole report of banned configuration (as a whole PC), but I'm not sure if, it's taken out of the configuration (when your friend gave it to you) is actually safe.

You should ask devs about this to be sure imo.

HWID ban is based on your HDD, SSD, not monitor, also IP and MAC adresses
