What's the killer counter to toolboxes?
People are going to say it's Franklin's demise or it is the doc's perk OP but both of those answers are mechanically wrong. In both of these circumstances the killer is giving up a perk to try and counter a survivor's item. That seems odd to me; why isn't there an offering that does it?

I think honestly the Mori is overdone. Nobody uses the shroud of separation because it gives the survivors a huge advantage. So let's replace it with something that makes sense? Let's make a new offering called mechanic's trap. The first generator finished with the help of a toolbox will be reset to 0% when this offering is used. Any healthy survivors working on the generator as it is completed will take one damage state.

What's the counter to whispers?

So in other words you'd rather killers just use a Memento Mori all the time?

In all seriousness, no. No one would ever accept it. Franklin's, PGTW, Overcharge, Surge, Ruin, Discordance, Surveillance.....are enough to counter toolboxes and give you more advantages than just that. Killers have powers, Survivors have items - it's just what you make of it.

Now what you're saying makes sense but hear me out. People suck so bad at this game that they require SWF to even play, OP Items, And meta perks just to be balanced in their minds. What you want would hurt these fragile people back into Classic WoW so your idea is bad.

I'm fully aware that most people refuse to play without voice com cheats. I am fully aware that the game is what it is currently because of an entitlement period of easy wins from the infinite window era.

And this is a suggestion to make there be a cool and interesting alternative to the dreaded MM - with people crying it would be terrible.

I have always felt like using a mori ruined the game for that survivor - especially back in the day when it was down and then dead. It makes me shake my head when I suggest an alternative and people say they would rather have the MM.

Overwhelming Presence. I run this on Doctor. Most of my games as killer are against 4 toolboxes or 4 flashlight users. Suppose to drain them 100 percent. If I see 4 flashlights I usually leave match and reque. Makes it hard when I’m playing as Wraith. Had that happen once.

I dont know if they are or not but i dont think toolboxes should be affected by any kind of survivor gen speed perk. If using a toolbox, any gen speed perk should deactivate. At the same time toolboxes are kind of a counter to some killer items and perks and vice versa. Billy or huntress addons that hinder survivor gen and heal speed for instance. Or freddys addon that decreases actions done while in dream state.

What's the point of even using a toolbox on a gen? It's barely any faster to use. I never waste using it on gens, I go and sabotage a hook with it.

A perk that only works when people are inside your aura means you can't control it. All OP really does is help drain flashlights faster.

Breaking hooks is a complete waste of time. Every map has a plethora of hooks now with the exception of some rare instances on The Shape's map and something like The Game map or the new ST Lab.

You'll figure this out when you reach > 200 hours.

Not really. The survivors just stop using the box when the doctor is close unless they really want to power through a gen and use it anyway.

The economy in this game is terrible because survivors who win keep their items; killers who win lose their addons. So all someone has to do is just 99% their box and they won't lose it if they escape. Couple this with the fact that survivors can search for items during the trial and after a while you have infinite items on survivors without spending points.

I understand but I’m still gonna run it.

LMAO nice attempt at condescension. I don't care about the hooks, I care about it giving me Boldness BP in between doing gens.

You'll figure out that out when you reach > triple digit IQ.
