What does -rep dbd mean?

It means somebody got salty and wants to lower your "reputation" by so commenting on your profile or the game.

I don't understand why people think this is a valueable system to show if you can trust someone.

Its because its used in other aspects such as trading and a few other games and people so happened to use it in this game which doesnt work so well given how annoying the community is.

Its because its used in other aspects such as trading and a few other games and people so happened to use it in this game which doesnt work so well given how annoying the community is.
Doesn't mean it's worth a ♥♥♥♥. It#s still a system that means nothing, not for trades or anything, you can simply delete the stuff that does show you are a ♥♥♥♥.
And people constantly use friends or beg in the most stupid news of unrelated games for "+reps".

This wasn't directed towards you, it's more directed towards the people who do this stupid thing.
Whoever thought of this system was probably not a very smart person and everyone who uses it, is also no smart person. Only idiots would believe such a system could work.

The people who thought of it held pc players transparency way too high I agree.

If i see +reps on someone's profile thats a BIG red flag.
Never will I do a trade with someone who has +rep he begged off steam forums.

The accounts can be alts from the same guy that he manages with a separate program / script, they can be fellow trader / scammer friends of his posting fake +reps

There have been investigated and proven cases of fake +rep rings leaving +rep comments with the same text, alternating between accounts, on all profiles in the ring. So on one guys' profile, it would say "+rep comment 1" from user A, "+rep comment 2" from user B, and so on. Then, on user A's profile, it would have the same series of comments, only from one guy down on the list each time. So, this time, "+rep comment 1" would be posted by user B on user A's profile, "+rep comment 2" maybe by user C instead of user B this time, etc.
The only things worth checking are Steamtrades (as you need a minimum account value to even be able to post positive or negative feedback on someone, decreasing the chances of feedback fraud), and Steamrep. You can use the links at the bottom right to check someone out, google them on all their info (steamID, steamID64, username, etc). +rep, once more, is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ridiculous and stupid thing.
Im not disagreeing with that statement at all.
Im just saying more often than not, if a person has pages of +rep and a bunch of trades/market transactions its usually legit.

I used to trade a bunch a few years back, not nearly as much as the people who make tons of profit off it though.
