Question regarding the disconnect symbol (separated plugs with red x)

I know the symbol next to the player's name changes to the disconnect symbol (two separated plugs with a red x) when he disconnects before he gets killed but does it also change that way when a player leaves after he got sacrificed?
I'm just asking because I'd like to know if there's a way to tell if dead players are still watching or not.

There is no way to tell. However sometimes it will go from a dead icon to a disconnect for some reaosn. I don't know why it changes. IT doesn't say if they're spectating or not .
