tips playing against doctor?
hey

i absolutely despise playing against the doctor because he ruins the entire game. So, when I play him and lose every single time I look on the forums all the forum "pros" say "change your tactics" but literally no one ever says anything besides "use the lockers" which is literally the worst possible tactic because lockers are already terrible to hide in ESPECIALLY when the doctor KNOWS you should be hiding in them playing against him.

so - what is the actual advice to play against him? note: 95% of players are not pros who can juke for five straight minutes so i want actual concrete tips.

thanks

try to get your madness one out of the way early in the game, preferably while he is already chasing and won't go after you. beyond that, standard killer jukes work the same against him as any other killer.

Note, never camp pallets or windows, but that's kind of a given.

what do you mean get my madness one out of the way early?

and also juking does not work on him because of his aura....how can what works on all other killers work on him if everyone in the forums says to use different tactics?

You initially scream at madness 1. So if you can group up and get it out of the way, managing madness isn't to big a deal.

If you get to "scream" by reaching madness 1 early in the match, while the killer is busy, he won't be able to use it later on you when he actually needs to find you.

Also, I don't get how his ability is stoping you from Juking. It slows him down greatly, just... Keep running... ? Until he gets into punishment mod for actual hits, and then, juke him like a normal killer, because that's pretty much what he is... Just make sure not to try to force your way out of a window after he shocked you as it's his only way to eventually (and hardly) prevent you from doing an action.

How can you tell your madness level and how can you tell if it increases? And does it decrease and how? And what happens at the different levels?

Well. Now you know why you got trouble playing against him : you don't know his mecanics.

Basically, there's a symbol on a right (with a brain), and little arrows on top of it.
When you're unnaffected, that icon is unnaffected.
If you stay within' the terror radius of Doctor for 10s, you get to "madness level 1" and you scream automatically, as reaching a new level of madness makes you scream.
There can already be a few afflictions for you at this state (weird skillchecks, fake doc etc), but usually not so much, it may depend on what add-ons he's been using.
Then, if you stay for too long in his terror radius while he's in treatment mode (shocking), you can reach madness 2/3 eventually (everytime you reach a new madness level, you scream).
You can see when you're about to scream with the filling jauge on the right.

Once you're madness 3, you're usually very afflicted by many things, like.. seeing fake pallets, fake docs everywhere, fake red lights around you, and you also cannot heal/repair before getting out of madness 3 by "snapping out", not moving for a few seconds, holding M1.

Come to him, make it easy. Allow him to treat you and you won't be camped. Trust me, the fun of the doctor is watching you flail around and shocking you. Keep him entertained and your team can carry on per normal. I've got sidetracked shocking David quite often. He reminds me of Chris Farley stumbling into a bee hive. Take one for the team. The doctor enjoys his job so indulge him in it.

Ok I had the general gist before but that definitely explains a few things

One thing I don't understand is how do you reduce madness back to zero - is it just time?

Also no one has actually given me tips on how to play against him yet except "let him camp you" - that's not gonna work on anyone good. Someone mentioned grouping up to confuse him but that's not different than any other killer.

Does ANYONE have actual unique strategies to suggest against him?

You cannot reduce madness back to zero. Once you reached rank 1, it cannot go back to 0. Once you reached rank 2, it cannot go back to 1. You can only snap out of 3 to get back to 2, as Madness 3 makes you scream every 40s, revealing your position.

Madness 1-2 aren't a huge handicap tho, apart from the few afflictions (like slightly modified skillchecks, random red light, fake docs spawning next to you, that kind of stuff)

Well, as stated above, reach rank 1 ASAP when he's chasing someone, so your first "scream" cannot be used to get you into trouble, making him to waste the info on you.

Don't unhook in his face, as he can stop that by just zapping you and then hitting you for free.

Playing stealthy is still possible. But once found, don't mind the zapping that much. Play like you play with any regular killer : don't let him get closer to you. Zapping is fine, getting hit isn't. Don't forget you cannot use pallet/windows for 2,5s after being zapped. But don't forget that zapping also slow him down a GREAT DEAL. So if he does, keep running until he's in the stance to hit you, then, simply juke him like normal, running around pallets and windows. Nothing too special. That killer ain't that big of a deal once you understand his mecanics and the basic juking mecanics of the game

The Nurse is the best killer because they cannot use the looping. Th devs need fix this and that all, you can play with all killers and fun.
Neonivek 25/set./2017 às 5:05
Get used to the doctor's halucinations. A big part of the doctor is that players are immediately offput and disoriented by it.

How does any of that prevent looping?
