One copyrighted killer was cool. Two is pushing it. Not only that, but his entire kit is basically just the Hillbilly on roids. Why not just put the Hillbilly on roids then?

If they keep doing it, it could very well easily just be them trading original and creative characters for "Oh, cool, X is in this game!"

Last I checked only Halloween is the time for copyrighted characters to get into the game. LF was an exception as he was one of the direct inspirations for the game. Or rather his movies were. If I'm remembering the article correctly.

Nothing is absolute. If this happens again it could be easily seen as unorginality.

I dont dig huntress either. I think she looks boring and unfiting. But she's there, and there's people that are loving to play her. And if i dont like her, thats my business.

Plus dead by daylight is obviously extremely inspired by the texas chainsaw movies. The whole carring people over the shoulders, hooking ,generators and basement stuff is ripped right through those movies. Hillbilly is basically a monsterfie leatherface....

Probably because they didn't have the license back then. Getting a license for a horror icon like MM or Leatherface for sure isn't easy. So a small team like them back in the release days probably didn't have the options to get his license. And as far as i know trapper is supposed to be jason oriented because of the mask, different, but kinda the same aswell.

First of all, Leatherface was one of the MAIN points of inspiration for this entire game, the hook itself is based on a scene from one of the original texas chainsaw massacre films. Do you not watch the dev streams?

Of course Leatherface deserves to be put into the game, not only was he a point of inspiration for the game, but was part of the killers of the decades whose shoulders the slasher genre rests upon. Norman bates from Psycho, Michael Myers from Halloween, Jason Voorhees from F13, Leatherface from Texas chainsaw massacre, Freddy Kreuger from Nightmare on elm street, Ghostface from scream.

And you're saying "TWO IS PUSHING IT"??? If anything the HILLBILLY is unoriginal because he was BASED on LF! These slashers are all amazing because each one is clearly distinct, and approaches the genre in a different way, with a different story, plotline, and general tone. I'll be honest, I don't know much about Psycho, (it's a bit too old for me :P [but it deserves to be on the on the list no less]) but Michael Myers, classified as nothing less than the pure incarnation of evil in a human mold. Jason Voorhees an unfortunate deformed child bullied by his peers until his "death" only to come back as a huge hulking intimidating figure on a search for revenge. Leatherface truly insane raised by cannibals only making him that much more different treating his victims less like people, and more like the meat of a cow needing to be butchered. Freddy Kreuger, preying on the fears of those in the real world (figuratively and literally) by appearing in their dreams toying with them and exploiting a universal concept, that nightmares are scary, and people fear them. Ghostface, who is on an entirely separate level from the others by flipping audience expectation, by using the tropes of the past 6, becoming self-aware creating a factor of unknown people were not used to at the time.

ALL of these killers deserve to be put in the game, considering their great contribution to the genre that Dead By Daylight itself pays homage to.

That's what I'm saying. If you're gonna make a character heavily inspired off of an existing character, it doesn't make sense to later add the character you were inspired by to the actualy universe.

Imagine—and this is just an example—if they made a killer that was unable to move but could teleport when not being looked at, but while being looked at a Survivor built up a mater that, when filled, would have the effects of a successful hit. Now, imagine after adding such a killer, they put the Slender Man in the game. Seems redundant.

I've said it before and I'll sayit again. THE HILLBILLY NEGATES THE NEED FOR LEATHERFACE'S EXISTENCE. He's based heavily off him and practically mimicks him in every way shape and form; putting the actual Leatherface in the game is repetitive and stupid.

Also, why the ♥♥♥♥ is "homage" a good excuse for not being creative and original with character design? If I made a band that is "inspired" by Queen but then half my songs are just Queen covers, that's not creative. Behavior Inc. still need to be original and have smart ideas. I'm not saying they will, but if they do continue to add people from other stuff it'll be a display of a lack of ideas and originality. At that point, it's just "Look at our game! It has Pennywise in it! Isn't that cool?"

So whats your point? whats your goal? whining until every leatherface player agrees with you and stop playing as him? change the devs mind into deleting the character from the game?
