how does SWF matchmaking work when your friend is new and you are not?

My buddy got the game recently and he barely has 1 perk on billy wihch he like to play.. I played couple of games with him in SWF and everytime the matchmaking put us vs good killers.. some of them running the ruin perk .. This kind of left a bad expereince for him I told him to solo que for a while and prepped him with basic survival strats when running with no perks.. he seems to do fine solo but in SWF the poor guy has hard time..

I know giving a new killer would tilt the balance since i have more experience i dont know whats best to do here.. i do want to play with him but I cant .. So ill probably have to wait till he gets more XP ingame i guess :(

this kind of leaves this game in bad taste when you try to introduce thsi game to your buddies :( may be give new killers for first few games in SWF then it can switch to regualr matchmaking algorithm?

I get paired with killers of all ranks and I don't even bother to go past rank 15.

It depends on the highest player rank in the SWF, 1 rank 1 with 3 rank 20 would paired with rank ~10 killer. So either you need to derank or let him play solo.

It takes the average rank of all the players in the SWF as its baseline for searching.

Lmao yeah and the average of 4 rank 20's is not 15 or below. But it happens because "reasons"
