I record on medium quality, usually 3 go per 20mins.
Fear the ban hammer? I'm the one that want that player to be banned. It's different lol.
if you have an amd card they have their own variant called relive
third option plays.tv gameplay recorder
i have experience with both plays.tv and shadowplay both are excellent gameplay recording software and they don't kick the ♥♥♥♥ out of your fps
This is what I use as well. I highly recommend it since it is very customizable and has a lot of different utilities (Streaming, Recording, Instant-Replay, etc). Also, anyone who records a lot of videos should definitely download Handbrake as well. It's free, and can be used to condense video files without any noticable loss in video or audio quality (so long as you use the correct presets, or make sure to use your own). Condensed 100 GB of footage into ~40 GB without any loss in quality.
Important thing to note with Shadowplay is that there is a potential issue with 2 workarounds: Dead by Daylight runs in Fullscreen (aka Windowed Borderless) but not Exclusive Fullscreen, and there's no user-friendly way to enable it. This means that Shadowplay might not recognize the game while you're playing it, so even if you attempt to record or use instant-replay, it will not turn on since it doesn't properly register the game.
Solution A: Force Dead by Daylight to run in Exclusive Fullscreen. There is a guide on how to do this somewhere though don't have it on hand, also might be able to help with this myself if any is needed. So long as a game is running in Exclusive Fullscreen, Shadowplay shouldn't have any issue recognizing the game for recording sessions. It also improves general performance when running the game.
Solution B: Enable Desktop Capture in Shadowplay. If you find the settings for Shadowplay, there's an option for "Privacy Control" that lets you enable/disable Desktop Capture. Enabling it means you can record and use instant-replay at all times, meaning on your desktop or for any games that aren't technically being recognized by Shadowplay. It's definitely useful, and is easier than getting DbD to run in Exclusive Fullscreen.
Warning: This may cause your video to look unstable once the recording is saved. You'll see lots of weird issues with frames blurring, blending, repeating, etc. It'll still be watchable but it won't look very good.
