DLC work for people who don't have it.

Interested in getting this for Halloween with friends and playing it tomorrow with them.

I got a question though:
If I get any DLC and start the lobby, will my friends get to play with the DLC I have or will they need to get it?

I know some games won't let people join if they don't have the same DLC you do and you need to turn it off.

They wont be able to play as the dlc killer if they do not have it. But they will be able to play against the dlc killer, if the killer has it, even if they dont.

For example, I only bought all the dlc 2 days ago (before that I had no dlc). He is paid dlc, but ive been fighting against leather face for weeks.

Basically, all DLC content can show up in any game with somebody who doesn't have the DLC. All the DLC does is ensure that the owner has the ability to play the characters that DLC came with.

So if, say, get the Halloween one, we all play on the new map, only I can play Micheal Myers if I play killer, and if I don't play killer, only I can play as the babysitter?

Maps are free for everyone.
You can only play the Killer you have the DLC for, but you can play against every Killer, even if you don´t have the DLC.

Same. You can only play as what you have bought, but you can play against everything, even if you don´t have the DLC

Play killer: Need DLC, don't to play against
Play survivor: Need DLC, don't to play against
Map: Everyone has for free

You also sometimes get a rare item as you level up that lets you play as a DLC killer even if you don't own the DLC. Though it's going to be a weak version of the killer since you wont have any perks or add-ons, but you can still try them out.

But yes your summary is correct. Maps are all available to everyone, you are only blocked from playing the DLC character yourself if you do not own it (with the exception above).
