How to play/counter freddy
I've got some experience playing him now and I looked over the threads and see a bunch of people saying how weak he is or how strong he is. I think he is very balanced killer

Perks:
Build: BBq&chilli, Blood warden, Thanatophobia , Bs/fire up

Freddy revolves around putting people in the dream world to do that you cant camp and you need to pressure the map and find survivors. BBq and chilli helps with this a lot, once you get down your first target you can hop on another and most of the time you will find groups.

Blood warden Is an amazing perk, most survivors will wait to run out if someone is down, this can easily turn a one kill game into a 2 kill+ game

Anti pallet This perk slot is self explanatory, you need help breaking pallets or you will be looped

Thanatophobia I think this is Freddy's strongest perk since it completely counters pallet looping. how!? This is due to Freddy's power. You are able to see survivors at all times if they are away from you, this means you don't have to chase a looper for long because you have other options. If you get a hit off the looper and they are wasting to much time, just switch to another survivor and Thana will make the get back the time you lost getting looped. It is always exreamly handy when there are groups of survivors, if you put them all into the dream world, hit one, then chase a different one, you waste the survivors time because they have to get out of dream and heal. you waste peoples doing gens time by slowing them down. I may not be articulating this great but this perk is a must on Freddy, trust.

Strong perks

Freddy tips:
- Be vigulent while playing Freddy, since you can see all survivors while chasing, look to see if their getting snapped out of it, you can ditch your current chase and head to the 2/3 group scattering survivors and wasting their time. That's 3 people not on gens.
-Dreamworld victims will lead you to other survivors
-Use bbq and chilli to make sure you always have a target
- Don't camp
-Try to predict survivor movements while they are going into the nightmare, block windows or wait on the other side.

Playing against Freddy: ( i am a low ranked survivor so if anyone has tips plz share)

-Travel separately, Freddy is bad when he only has 1/2 people in dream world
- Use aura reading ability's track other survivors who are dreaming and help them out, Freddy can only go after one.
- Make sure to save quickly, Freddy can't camp and he loses dreamworld on hooked targets.
-Freddy's usually wont be running iron grip or agitation, sabo saves work very well.
- When you are about to enter dreamworld, Freddy will most likely be on your♥♥♥♥♥ Juke backwards to confuse him and run any direction.
-He gets looped easily

Hopfully this information will stop crybaby survivors and noob killers from getting needlessly buffed or nerfed. If you have any information to add to the guide (need help with survivor counters since i am a killer main) feel free to comment. As Freddy is out longer more ways to play against and with him will be found, This is just a temporary guide to get everyone used to what Freddy can do.

Best analysis of Freddy so far 10/10 most people seem to not realize Freddy cannot hurt you at all until you enter the dream. at that point you can just run next to him and escape through the gates you can even run by him and he won't be able to hurt you till you enter the dream world.

And yeah aura reading Bond is the most useful perk to get away from him (As well to find a survivor to wake you up) since he can't hurt you till you enter dream world again.

Yeah, the play tips are pretty good, the counter ones are ♥♥♥♥.

Yes ive seen a game where survivor were to afraid to run by him to escape at the gates when it was open ....... and they were not even in the dream world they instead turned and went behind tree or pallet .... When they could of just ran to escape like if freddy was never there and escape ...

Thantophobia does next to nothing, I'd reccomend a different perk in that slot, such as NOED.

Blood Warden seems garbage to me.

It's one whole perk for a 30 secs T1 barrier that requires you to hook after the gates open. You'd be better off with something to help the entire match.

Not the first level of it.

But I guess that's okay.

As long as you can get a survivor hooked in that few seconds between opening a gate and leaving.

Far too situational for my taste.

One thing I have noticed while playing survivor:
he is invisible but not silent and his heartbeat is directional. Good headset will help you as you can always tell where he is just like huntress.
Sadly he can't do anything to loopers.
His power shoueld decrease skillcheck chance by default I think.

I tried out addon that slows you down and decrease terror radius... Ot was super fun even against swf of 3 with 1k hours each.
Terror radius had about 8-10 m and with m &a it would be freaking powerful ability if you couple it with his wallhavk like ability.

we'll make it is the perk i tried to counter him, it works wonders and is amazing. In the time you heal you didn't even enter the dream world, IF he is camping. Haven't met a camper yet since the changes. But i definitely recommend we'll make it if you have problems against him, puts alot of pressure on him.

Just to add * His lullaby is not directional.

I want a fix for freddy thanks

By monday only the bad players will complain he's OP. He could take a looking at but after the dust has settled. I'm really enjoying him but when you've got a group of SWF who know how to counter him he's not as powerful. I've come across a lot of players now who know exactly how to counter him. When they're asleep they wake themselves up with failed gens. The pro about failed gen checks is that the killer can't damage the gen until they start it up again so there's no regression of the gen, not much at least.

Waking yourself up is a huge pull back on Freddy and basically nets you a free heal.
