How to win with and against Freddy
Pretty simple, lets just have an objective, constructive discussion about this stuff. I'm tired of seeing people yelling random stuff about how nice it is to see the tears and so on.

I'm going to edit this with some points from the discussion.
I play survivor with my friends so as much as I'll try not to be I'll end up being biased towards survivors. If you have something that should be up here to help killers let me know.

How do I win as The Nightmare?
- Try to prolong the game as long as possible (perks like overcharge and ruin help).
- Don't tunnel in on survivors, the more you nightmare at once the more likely a win is.
- This last point I think is worth repeating. PUT EM' ALL TO SLEEP!

How do I win against The Nightmare?
- Group up
- Use perks that trump stealth like Premonition and Spine Chill
- Use generators to wake up the people around you and yourself
- Use self healing to wake yourself up (not sure if this works on survivors around you)
- Bond and Empathy help you find survivors that can wake you up when you're dreaming
- Pallet loop that suka

Run self care or go to a gen if you have distance, fail a skillcheck. Run.

Running bond is pretty good vs him

At this point pallet looping seems to be efficient.

What if you dont have self care and he is on you like donkey kong, which is every time.

He's a Wraith, you don't need a special strategy.
Anything that works on the Wraith works on him.

IMO hes really bad... you have tracking abilities but takes too long to start hitting people

Sole Survivor , Spinechill/Premo , We'll Make It , Empathy , I didn't try Technician yet ^^

From the survivor's side, I found that Spine Chill has been a useful asset in knowing if the Nightmare's after you. It's allowed me to get a head start on chases, and even elude him a few times. I imagine Premonition will have some similar use.

Bond and possibly Empathy will prove useful for finding teammates in case you are in the dream world. If those are lacking - or worse, your teammates are also a sleep - certain failed skill checks can wake you up. If you fail a generator, you and any survivors working on it will be woken up. And I had suspected failed healing checks would do the trick, but hadn't confirmed it yet.

Self heal and fail on purpose is a really solid strategy.

I can confirm, fail heals work.

I havent played against him only with him soo :

-Survivors asleep cant escape through gate
-His power works like B&Q Chilli as long as they are asleep
-He cant be seen unless survivor is asleep
-He cant grab survivor rescuing someone from hook unless that survivor is asleep
-Pallet looping hes is weak point as many other killers
-There are addons which increase FK movement speed while using his power soo thats nice
-Blood Warden is very good paired with NOED
-Add ruin or overcharge to prolong game.

Also for those who say that survivors take long to fall asleep, there are addons for that

Would it make sense to just ignore him when he start sleeping people and always rushing generators. Failing a skill check on a gen when others are around will wake everyone up. Seems to be the most efficient way to wake everyone up.

Thoughts?

It's either that or Spine Chill/Premonition?
Any freddy players find really annoying tactics other than pallet looping?

Also, it makes me super happy to see that we're 13 comments deep and no salt yet.
Rock on folks! :steamhappy:

Failing skillchecks will wake survivors up.

I wonder if it instantly wakes them up while they're Dream Transitioning though. If so, I can imagine exploiting that by purposely failing skill checks when Freddy is near to avoid being injured at all.
