How could they make this?
Do you see no penalty in other multiplayer games whereas a player quit in the middle of the game?
In DotA2 for example, you'll get "softban"/sent to "low priority"(with players that have same punishment) where matches can take forever(1hour+ per match), and you have to win the matches to get out - which isn't an guarantee.
What i meant with above mention; there are games with worse consquences than a time limited softban.
If you join a game with 4 other people, then comit and fulfill it. Noone wants to play with a quitter, and it's bad for buisness/DBD.
You won't get banned for doing it for one time cause you raged or you needed to do so.
And they are only banning for it if you do it often. An occasional DC because of internet issues will not be a problem.
Remember, this isn't a automated system. If you get reported a lot, the Devs can look and see how often you've been DCing. If it's too much, you get a ban. A person will always be reviewing the details and makeing a decision.
Your feelings being too wild is not, according with common sense, eligible for "Quit".
Wrong, because using the in game option could be flagged by the devs as something slightly different. They could see that's HOW you DC'd and maybe give people a pass. Something could have come up IRL and they had to leave. It happens.
I'm not saying they WILL do this, but they could.
But if you DC (even with the in-game option) in 80% of the games you play, it shows that YOU are a problem. And you deserve whatever punishment you get.
Well if they remove the option I won't quit. If the option to forfeit is removed from the game, and it's in the EULA that forfeiting is a violation( it's not), then Alt+F4 wouldn't be acceptable.
For example, if you leave 70% of your games, that's excessive. You leaving that game affects everyone else in it. Or if you leave every time you get hooked, you're ruining the game for others. One survivor leaving makes it way easier for the killer to kill the other three.
So basically, don't abuse, you're fine.
