Quitting using game option bannable?
If so, better remove that option then. Or is it just the people disabling their connection?

If it's bannable that's dumb. If it adds a timeout causing you to wait x amount of seconds/minutes, then I wouldn't say it's a ban.

you won't be ban if you quit the game by clicking leave game or shut down your computer...

How could they make this?

Softban. Not permanent ban. Huge difference.

Do you see no penalty in other multiplayer games whereas a player quit in the middle of the game?

In DotA2 for example, you'll get "softban"/sent to "low priority"(with players that have same punishment) where matches can take forever(1hour+ per match), and you have to win the matches to get out - which isn't an guarantee.

What i meant with above mention; there are games with worse consquences than a time limited softban.

If you join a game with 4 other people, then comit and fulfill it. Noone wants to play with a quitter, and it's bad for buisness/DBD.

Difference is this game is peer to peer and those other games have official servers

True. I'm half-sure they'll come up with something concering this fact.

YOU WILL get SOFT banned for leaving matches too often. It doesnt matter how, including pressing the leave button.

You won't get banned for doing it for one time cause you raged or you needed to do so.

Then remove the option to quit. That's like a diner putting frenchfries on the menu, and kicking you out if you order them. Derrp.

Leaving the game mid-session (under certain circumstances) is considered Rage-Quitting, it doesn't matter if you use the option or pull the plug. Both are detrimental to the rest of the players in the game.

And they are only banning for it if you do it often. An occasional DC because of internet issues will not be a problem.

Remember, this isn't a automated system. If you get reported a lot, the Devs can look and see how often you've been DCing. If it's too much, you get a ban. A person will always be reviewing the details and makeing a decision.

No matter what anyone writes here, it makes no sense if the option is there.

What game does not offer a "Quit" button ? How else would you shut the game off if it was necessary.

Your feelings being too wild is not, according with common sense, eligible for "Quit".

Wrong, because using the in game option could be flagged by the devs as something slightly different. They could see that's HOW you DC'd and maybe give people a pass. Something could have come up IRL and they had to leave. It happens.

I'm not saying they WILL do this, but they could.

But if you DC (even with the in-game option) in 80% of the games you play, it shows that YOU are a problem. And you deserve whatever punishment you get.

Removing the quit button would not do anything... people would just have to ALT+F4 then... Sometimes people do have to legit leave a game. Like today I was playing and the fire alarm went off in my building... Had to leave in the middle of a good game too

Well if they remove the option I won't quit. If the option to forfeit is removed from the game, and it's in the EULA that forfeiting is a violation( it's not), then Alt+F4 wouldn't be acceptable.

No, it won't be. Just to make this perfectly clear, disconnection bans are going to be just for those that abuse it. Leaving a game because someone's at the door, you have to take an important phone call, the game is in a stalemate and can't end, your dog peed on the rug, or your house is on fire are all valid reasons to leave the game. That's why the button is there, sometimes you have to leave. Those bans will only be for those that repeatedly use it for no reason, or use it to save their items, use it when they're losing, etc.

For example, if you leave 70% of your games, that's excessive. You leaving that game affects everyone else in it. Or if you leave every time you get hooked, you're ruining the game for others. One survivor leaving makes it way easier for the killer to kill the other three.

So basically, don't abuse, you're fine.
