Is the Huntress really that good?
Because low ranks are defeated by her really easily (because they run in a straight line) you hear them complain on the forums all the time. But high ranks, shes basically like hillbilly except shes slower, and her hatchets don't one shot.

If the axes would one shot all the time, yes, she'd probably be the best killer. But she doesn't (and rightly so, it would be quite op once mastered) But nurse, she can do the same thing as a hatchet, except she can't catch on obstacles like hatchets can, and she can change direction.

And the huntresses slightly slower speed won't make much difference in a chase due to bloodlust, but her lower speed makes her bad for patrolling generators.

I think shes mostly useless in high ranks, because the nurse can do basically the same thing, but so much better, and whereas survivors can easily dodge a hatchet if they know what they're doing, you can't dodge a nurses hit as easily.

Shes basically a worse version of the nurse, don't get me wrong, love the idea behind her, but at high ranks she pales in comparison to the likes of hillbilly and nurse. If you're going to take all the time to master her, why not just master the nurse.

i'd put her at #3 behind nurse and billy atm. when people get rly good on her, she might show her true strength, but atm it looks like she is as easy to loop as a hag without traps.

when you know when and where to throw shes quite strong
also with her instant hit after throw bug
I'm rank 15 Killer, and I don't regard myself as a great killer considering I don't get to play very often.
However, I played as Huntress for the very first time today; Level 1, no perks, no add-ons, and I played against ranks 10, 8, 11, and another 10, and I managed a clean sweep in relatively short order with only 1 gen completed.

She seems pretty good to me.

Well... I only tried her for one game so far, and it might have put me off her forever. Yes, I main nurse so my opinion may be biased. But she seems considerably worse version of the nurse.
- you can use obstacles to protect yourself from the axes, not from the blink
- Huntress has that similar slow movement, but no real mechanic to catch up to the survivors, unlike blink. As in actually MOVE. Survivors who you manage to hit the first time, have much higher chance to juke the huntress compared to the nurse. Imagine hitting a survivor with the axe from further away as she is just rounding a corner. Surv is hurt, gets a burst of adrenaline and runs even further breaking line of sight, while huntress is not any closer. Nurse actually closes the distance if she gets a hit in. Sure theres the stun, but she is still basically closer after a hit.
- Huntress has to recharge her mechanic, nurse doesn't.

Sure it might be different after some actual perks on her, but I don't see why I would want to play her over the nurse. Its a cool concept but not for me I think.

ps. Her map is however really cool with the hanging meats and the altar and the photographs...

When the huntress first came out, sure, even rank 1s fell like flies, but a few days, once they knew how to dodge her, she became quite easy to defeat
High ranks actually know how to not take every hatchet to the face, unlike low ranks. She's above average if you get good with her, but Nurse is still better, and so is Billy. She 'might' be around that Trapper/Hag level in terms of how good she is.

Yeah, I can understand that, nothing feels better then getting a successful hatchet throw, apart from a hatch grab or killing a pallet looper.
