Splices have eroded faces and twisted body. This one is perfectly able. Also - splicer masks were very ornate court-ball-masks, while this one is rather simple.

It's from the Jackals movie. Half-face, white mask of a cutesy animal and a hatchet weapon.

The similarities are so prevalent, that it is a homage at best. I guess they just want to promote the movie.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought of the Splicers from Bioshock

Free DLC is not going to be a licensed item.

Because it wouldn't make any sense that the movie's creators paid the devs money for promotion and thus the DLC is free.

If it is not licensed, it's pretty much plagiarism.

Reminds me of that time Cascada tried to go to 2013 Eurovision song contest with a carbon copy of a song that won the last time and thought nobody would notice.

That's not how it works but thanks for trying. Don't you think if it had anything to do with that movie they would have made mention of it in the trailer? DOH! The movie producers got ripped off!! they did not even get mentioned! Woe is them.

Np, i love to try. Best thing about it? I succeed.

The masks are the same, the weapons are the same, the body language is the same. I mean, it's not like we are comparing the Hag with let's say Jeepers Creepers' creature.

Or Wraith with Scream.

This one is 1:1 the same minus some dirt and the usual DbD artstyle. Killers of the Entity are being held captive and tortured into submission. So if one of the Jackals was caught and twisted by the Entity, that is exactly what she would look like.

Besides - name me one killer except Meyers who actually looks human? Even Trapper has some massive scars and metall stuff on his skin.

IF it wasn't a character already present, wouldn't it make much more sense to finally release The Crawler?

So the Dataminers, leaked the throwing axe months back, July 6th was when Jackals 2017 trailer came out. I think Developers worked on the Huntress before Jackals had a trailer. If that's not proof enough, Developers teased the Huntress on June 20th for the anniversary. Developers couldn't have had any knowledge on Jackals during that timeframe. Who's really the carbon copy?

Movies aren't made in a day. It would make sense that when the production began, they contacted the devs and asked for a prototype.

And there were no images of the killer itself - only the weapon. The masks are the same however. Half-face, white, cutesy animal. Also the killers in the movie are hunting for the baby that they want to take from the mother.

I mean, cmon. You are going to tell me all of those parallels just so happen to be?

And btw - the location is the same as well. Deep in the woods. Which is NOT usual for DbD.

So you are suggesting the Movie is copying Dead By Daylight's new killer? I thought that was against your argument, also that's a really long stretch.

Nnope, i am suggesting that DbD devs and the creators of the movie are working together. Nothing wrong with that, i am just wondering why the hell they are so opposed to admitting it.

Cmon, name me anything that would oppose the blatant similarities other than "the devs said so"

If you read the new interview article about The Huntress, you'd see they were inspired by old folklore.
