What does Deafened mean?

I saw it on a hag addon the disfigured ear, survivors are deafened for 6s... as in no sound at all including heartbeat?

Correct, they'll have no sound whatsoever for those six seconds.

It used to give them a loud, ear-piercing ringing noise, but now I'm pretty sure it's just the above^.

I think it ear-rapes them but they have changed it since release and I don't play survivor nearly enough to see a Hag with that add-on so idk.

I think I would prefer the ear rape... even as a survivor. It makes it more real.

I played against a hag with that thingy, it's both annoying and scary at the same time, you hear like a high pitch sound and cannot hear anything else for that period of time.
