Is a snail race bannable?
I want to use Micheal's ew3 to knock down two survivors near the exit and let them have a race.
Before i do it though, is it bannable-in-theory like facecamp almost is?
Just wondering. :D

Not at all.

I think people would prefer calling it a slug race, considering it's slugging.

That said, I doubt it. I don't even know of anyone who got banned for facecamping or even repeated exploit use yet (although the latter may come with the fix, but it's just a day anyway).

Slugging = to hit someone. But we're trying to use it to describe what happens when you hit someone twice. It's confusing. Snail Race is better.

No, there has never been the slightest hint that it is bannable. It's a great strat.

...Lel, "like facecamp" - facecamp all day, every day. That's the true way of life.

What's confusing is your explanation - slugging means you hit someone? Pretty sure slugging meant leaving people to bleed out and slowly crawl around until they die, similar to how slugs slowly crawl around for their entire lives until they die.

Slugging is already an English verb that means to hit someone. When you slug someone, you are hitting them. You hit people in this game, so the second meaning comes up :/

Yep, that is the "slug meta"

I suspect the issue with the word "Slugging" is only apparent to native English speakers of a certain age.

Regardless, language evolves around common usage. Slugging is the most popular term, although snail race will probably be understood by everyone. You can probably pick whichever you like.

except slugging has become the common use in dbd especially when one of the titles for the dev stream was "decisive slugs"

Yup, it is already too late to change it. However, if you use snail race, people will probably know what you're talking about + you get to low level troll.

No, the issue is your apparent unfamiliarity of the game's typically used slang and identifying the circumstance in which the term is being used.

In my previous post, I've highlighted exactly what the term "slugging" is commonly regarded to be in this community, and why. If you can't accept that, that's all you. That said, you seem to appreciate the English language, so I'm sure you can understand and appreciate it after the explanation.

Hope I helped, some people can really go off on misunderstandings like that here. The last thing I'm sure we'd all want is a brawl to break out or, god forbid, someone gets slugged.

Lol

I think i read somewhere that the dev twitted that facecamping is bannable.
that's why i said sort-of-bannable.

The issue with a snail race is basically i let them get away to see who wins, so that might be counted as a bad thing, dunno, so i asked :)
But thanks for the advice. I'll try to set up a 4 man race (would be difficult though) but i'll start with 2.

Maybe later on i can stream it and take bets.

Nothing really is currently bannable as far as I know aside from blatant hacking. They haven't even banned anyone using the exploit yet. The report system is entirely cosmetic and doesn't do anything either so snail away.
