What is Proxy / Prox camping?
I took a break from this for a while and decided to return. Most the games have been fun as a killer, people seem nice and 4/5 i get a gg and wellplayed. However those 1/5 seem to be very aggressive, obviously they accuse me of camping, fair enough, iv heard it all before...

But iv been called a prox / Proxy camper and im not sure what that means? if anyone would enlighten me, that would be helpful.

it means "proximity" camping which in the eyes of entitles survivors means being anywhere near the hook.

they deserve three lives!

Basically this^. If all three of the others run around the hook trying to get you to chase them and you refuse, they will call you a camper.

Well said! So tired of survivors blaming killers for their mistakes.

When killers don't camp and instead patrol inside the terror radius so when you are unhooked, they don't have far to run.

The line between camping and not camping is kind of blurry. If you check the surroundings of the hook or if you patrol the area, it can be called proxy-camping, because you keep control of a defined area around the hook, making the window to rescue a hooked survivor considerably small and therefore hard to pull off.

If you play Hillbilly and chainsaw sprint every now and then to the hook or if you play Nurse and stay in blink range to the hook, it can be considered as proxy-camping as well.

However, if you have a reason to stay near the hook, due to tracks, running or breathing sounds of other survivors or you want to check first, if someone is hiding nearby, stay, find them, hunt them down. If you don't have reason, go away. That's at least the way I play it and I feeld comfortable with it. It is imo fair, but not stupid.

It's again some "rules" that survivor come up with how killers "should play".
After Camping isn't triggering anymore, they came up with facecamping and proxy camping to shame/troll killer.
It's like the "respect the 5%" bullsh**"
Or slugging is a scum tactic.*rolleyes*
And don't forget Moris...to use a Mori is unsportsmanlike.:steambored:
