Patch updates take a very long time
Is there something wrong with the game? Every single patch takes a very long time to download and install. It takes 10 minutes to prealocate the space for the download even for a 30 MB update, and then it downloads very slowly and then it takes a few more minutes just to install. It took over 20 minutes just to download and install a 39 MB patch... All the other games take 6 minutes max even very big patches

I want to also mention that this is the only game where this happens. The rest dont preallocate no space, they start downloading immediately, take a very short time to download and install

Some games are like this yeah (payday for example)

It's their spaghetti coding, Payday 2 has it too and it's pretty much from the same company.

BVHR has a reputation for this with steam,so its not just DBD

It's because the gamefiles are compressed, if they want to add a small thing, like the updated Shrine, a lot of the huge compressed file has to be rewritten.

Yeah, its the same for me. Also my SDD have some problems, might end soon and some of this game patches take like 4 hours for me just installing and pre-alocating.

They share the same publisher. So it isn't pretty much the same company.

Nobody likes a smartass, you know what I mean, regardless, every single one of their games has no shortened coding in their builds whatsoever.

Hmm, I don't remember the updates would take an unusually long time. I got the game installed on a regular (non SSD) SATA3 harddrive with 7200RPM. First Steam downloads the patch and then installs it. ... Could it be you are limiting your download speed or something? This is available in the Steam options.

Like I said, this is the only game that is happening to. The rest have 20-40 MB/s download speeds and have no pre-alocating time and install really quick. So its not me limiting my download speed. The reason I belive is what the others said
