How to change max FPS to get MUCH higher FPS:
Go to your windows search bar and type in %appdata%
You should get a folder called roaming.
Go back into the appdata folder and click the local folder instead.
Now click the Dead by Daylight folder.
Go to Saved, Config, WindowsNoEditor. It should look something like this:
AppData\Local\DeadByDaylight\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor

Now open up "GameUserSettings".
Go to the bottom where it says "FrameRateLimit=x.000000". It should be zero.
I changed it to around 200 and my FPS when up like crazy.
Tell me if this works!

According to Superyoshiegg (Thanks!) You can also just search up "appdata" instead of "%appdata%" to go straight to the folder.
If it doesn't work, use the %'s.

Also, disable Vsync.

If you type "appdata" instead of "%appdata%", you don't have to back out of Roaming. It takes you straight to the AppData file.

Thank you for that. I'll update it.
But for windows 10, I think it does it differently. I'll keep it too just in case.

I don't see a 'MaxFPS" anywhere in this file.

Yes.

Murf, one of the mods, has advised it.

The ini files where vsync and frames settings are are ok to change.

I was able to undo the fps cap and increase some by using adding/changing these values.

in engine.ini add:[/script/engine.engine]
bSmoothFrameRate=true
MinDesiredFrameRate=22.000000
SmoothedFrameRateRange=(LowerBound=(Type="ERangeBoundTypes::Inclusive",Value=22),UpperBound=(Type="ERangeBoundTypes::Exclusive",Value=122))

in gameusersettings.ini change:

bUseVsync=false
FrameRateLimit=122.000000

Then after you have made those changes, make sure both files get set to Read Only.

I was able to keep my Ultra setting and am now back to gett getting 75-90 fps in-game as I was before 1.40

My specs:

i7 6700k OC 4.4
gtx 970 OC
SSD
16GB ram
w7ult 64bit

AppData > Local > DeadByDaylight > Saved > Config > WindowsNoEditor

So the same file as GameUserSettings
