Since you haven't played, some of the maps like the farm have corn rows that can obstruct killer's field of view quite a bit meaning you can hide but your success will vary depending on the tracking ability of the player who is the killer.
A bot trying to do this would either A) never lose you or B) always lose you. That's ultimately the problem with bots in games like this, too good or too stupid.
It can be done. It is either you wanna do it or not ;) And great programmers will know how to make it without making it feels cheaty or stupid ;) Developers can totally program a character to behave the way players behaving. They could make it stupid or intelligent.
But in order to add that feature, need more time and money of course. It is up to them, if they are generous enough to add offline mode, then great, otherwise, players would have to live with it while it last since online game without players, you can't play.
