People are setting some weird ass light beams as if they're getting abducted by aliens XD What are they and can i do em?

It is a map addon. The purple one... that allows you to place a marker in the game so everyone can see it.

Good when you see the hatch and want to point it out to everyone.

Killer doesn't see that ray of light.

edit yeah yellow addon.. got it mixed up with the one that shows everyone what the map is tracking.

It's an add-on for the map item. While using the map you can hit space bar to set up a beacon for other survivors to find. I got to use it once. It is actually pretty neat.

Um okey. I was in Autoheaven Wreckers and the beam was yellow but anyways, how do you do it? Is it a button or?

It's a YELLOW map addon where you can use the map and press space to set up a marker for you and other survivors to see.
Mostly I use those to gather with survivors at a generator or If I found the hatch and want to show it to others.
Coop pointgeneration on generators is pretty good so you can make a lot of points if survivors come for the beacon.
Also you can reset the beacon as often as you want.
Just use map + space the old one vanishes and the new one comes up.
Pretty cool i think.

more specifically, it's calledd the Glass Bead add on for the map. There's also a really cool add on for maps called the Crystal bead, that shows everything you see on the map to all survivors. So when you use it, they see it too. It works well with the rainbow map. The map is nice to get more objective points and to find the hatch. I use the rainbow map with odd stamp and crystal bead. With the regular map, i would use the glass bead with the black silk cord to find the hatch to find the hatch and mark the hatch with that yellow light. It works well when you have the dull or skeleton key to escape with survivors.

it's name is glass bead, and it's just uncommon, the pruple allows to make all survivors see what you see.
