An advice for survivors against hex: ruin killers
I've been using hex ruin since a couple of days and I really noticed that survivors don't know how to combat this, so, as a nurse main with TOTH and hex ruin I wanna give you a couple of advices which always have helped the survivors survive, so take these seriously.
This is not "my point of view". This is experience from over 150 games using hex ruin and TOTH.

1. Be good at great skill checks, learn how to do it, it's not impossible. Go to KYF and practice, hours if it's needed. This is an super easy counter that shows how skilled you are.

2. Don't go off gens and search for the totem, you will have NO chance to destroy the totem and you are wasting your time and risking your life. This is really important, there's been less than 15 games (from a total of 154 games) where survivors managed to break my totems. Most of them have been broken because I stopped caring about my totems, since I knew the 4 kill already was mine.

3. Check the position of both hex totems, if they are super near from each other try to lure the killer away and work as much as possible on one gen near the totem. You will need atleast 1 gen away from the totems for the last generator.

4. Put pressure on the killer, if he realizes that you ignore the totems and work on gens he will stop patrolling them.

5. Destroy all dull totems, that will make your life much easier once the killer stops patrolling the totems.

6. Don't risk your life, it's not worth it. Even if you destroy both of his totems while you played aggressively, the killer most likely had the chance to hook 3-6 times and you still have to do 3-5 gens.

So far, I have only seen a veeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeery few amount of people combating hex:ruin well, they were finishing gens as if there was no totem at all. They always hit great skill checks and completley ignored the totems.
People who aggressively go to totems nonstop always die before the first gen is activated.

I need to try this out...

if you did not master great skill checks so far, just one tap gens continously... one tapping never pops the gens and does not hint your work nor your position to the killer
takes a bit longer but if the killer babysits his totems you have all the time you need... do it togehter with other survs on the same gen and have a hilarious time :-)!

You don't even have to be good at skillchecks when you can avoid getting skillchecks altogether.

I've seen a lot of people doing that in my games and they never manage to do better than people who play it in the way I'm telling you.

Hillbillies and nurses are the most ruin users, the high movement ability allows to put a lot of pressure on survivors, the tapping wastes way too much time. I'm fine with people doing that.

What are your 2 other perks beside TOTH and Ruin? I always struggle to decide between Nurses Calling and Deerstalker...

Of course always getting the perfect skillcheck is better than one tapping, but if you're still in the process of having to "git gud" at hitting those perfect skillchecks, you can do this in the meantime.

Nurses calling and monitor and abuse.

M&A allows you to do grabs off gens and totems since you can go 8 meters nearer of the survivors. I removed whispers from my build because those 2 totems give me the exact location of survivors nonstop and nurses calling does the rest.

As a survivor main, I love hexes. They give more thrill to the game for me. No pun intended. lol. But hex ruin is such a good perk. My advice is go after dull totems first. They diminish the time required to remove a hex so it helps a lot.

good tactic, get the gens and get out basicly.

Alright, I give it a try. Last question from my side: Have you ever had the bug that you don't get a notification once the TOTH Totem is worked on? Played with ruin TOTH combo 3times by now, but that bug happened to me once.

So far I had no bugs with it, you might have gotten it but you wear too near or you got multiple explosion cues at once?

Typical main killer thread. xD

Maybe both... the two totems were relatively close to each other which is why I patrolled them. I also had a sabo Jake in that round...
