How to use ps4 controller to play dbd

I connected my ps4 controller to my pc but i can't use it in dbd but i can use it in big picture mode

You can use it in DBD through Steam Big Picture. You just need to have set it up specifically for DBD if I recall correctly. I have been doing it for months now. Though I would recommend that you set the Right Stick to emulate a Mouse so you can up the sensitivity higher than what the in-game option allows.

When i open dbd in steam big picture mode, there was a sign tell me that dbd only support keyboard and mouse

You should still be able to set up a Ps4 controller though.

download ds4 windows from google, i've got it, it works for me.

Forget DS4, you don't need it anymore as Steam uses PS4 controller natively now. Just set it up once in Big Picture Mode and you're good to go. You don't have to use BPM next time.

It's not hate. It just makes sense to use something that is part of Steam over downloading something.

I've tried getting PS controller to connect to steam, but it's not recognized in the game. I downloaded DS4, but it's not recognizing my controller, and I looked at a few videos on YouTube, and I still have no idea how to get my controller to show up on DS4. I have no clue what to do now.

Enable support for it in general controller settings. I used to use a DS4 all the time and without Big Picture Mode or DS4Windows.

Actually the game could understand that's was a playstation controller, with playstation display, after the Sadako patch and before the new content patch / rift.

You doesn't need big pictures, there is an option for profils controllers, if it's in Steam option panel.
Now thats you have to use the steam mods that's emulates all controllers into an Xbox controllers, it's work for :
- Switch / Wii U pro controllers
- PS4 / 5
- Steam controllers
- customs controllers

You have a notificiation that's steam loaded profils at the launch of the games.
But you may have : lag input.
