Universally Alturistic play is selfish, selfish play is objective focused and thus actually helpful to everyone.

I go into every match as a survivor acting like I am on the clock. I am at work. I have a job. I gotta collect my paycheck. I need a good preformance review because my wife is expecting.

My job? Fixing generators and not dying.

Know what rushing a hook isn't? Fixing a generator and not dying.

Sure, I will help you out if you ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up... just as long as it doesn't bring the boss's (Killer's) heat down on me.

Because by going to rescue the INSTANT someone gets hooked, and REFUSING to give up on a rescue is actually much more harmful to everyone's prospects, including the hooked player, than just repairing and putting pressure on the killer.

alturism is selfish.

If you want to score over 15k points you have to to unhook.

i save when it isn't moronic to do so... aka finish my generator and if the other survivors havn't all been downed around the hook yet while holding the killer hostage there, then i might wander over and have a look.

selfish.

Don't really know why, I guess mostly because in every game there is always 3 other altruistic survivors so I just prioritize generators.

I'm split fifty fifty. I'll save you if it isn't dangerous and I don't have a half finished Gen nearby. But if it's you on the hook and you're the only obstacle between me and the hatch you'd better believe you're going to die.

Being altruistic is selfish according to brain dead killers... BAHAHAHAHA.

It depends on what you mean by alturistic

However it is important to note that killers *love* self styled alturistic players. Like absolutely love em to bits. Love love love. Please be in my games alturistis! If I am a killer of course. Alturists can ♥♥♥♥ right off when I am a survivor.

Please, by all means, keep unhooking someone as soon as you can so I don't have to wait for all 3 stages of their bleed out! Go ahead. It is good "teamwork" to prioritize alturistic play! You saved em after all, despite the fact I am literally about to hook em again because of you!

more like campers or hard patrolling killers like altruism. To other killers its annoying unless theyre able to find and down the survivors again

It is not hard to get a feel for when camping will or won't be effective. I recomend instead of focusing on gen patroling vs camping as opposed strategies to think of them as two tools in your belt depending on survivor behavior. Asside from extreme perk choices like DH or Insidious you aren't locked into either strategy, and most killer powers benefit both tactics.

So if you see people being a bit brazen near ya? Camp it up, they likely are very cockily alturistic if they feel like they can just be open about their presence.

If you are up against 4 ninjas who you can tell are consistently roving for generators? Camping may literally be the least efficient thing you can do.

1. depends on my perk build. Sometimes I go Borrowed Time, We'll Make It, Botany Knowledge, and Empathy just to help as many people as possible.

In terms of going to rescue someone or doing generators, if the killer is camping, I go do gens unless I have a flashlight; in that case, I may try to juke the killer using it. Otherwise, I usually prioritize helping the other players.

Bill is my Save Others character, and actually SAVE and HELP, not just hook rush and unhooking 2 seconds after the survivor being hooked and killer is standing 2 m away (I always go back to try and save, ususally with me dying and other making it, lol. Unless they are rude survivors, as in sandbag and such.)

But lately I've been just playing Feng, and she's my "I'm just gonna do what I gotta do to survive" character. Her build resolves around being able to help herself and getting things done. If I'm able to save someone without a major risk, I'll try. But if it's most likely gonna end up bad, nope. Gotta do gens and escape.

Depend of what perk I have. Sometime you need to pop s gens to put some pressure on the killer.

I usually try to save others, unless they are in the basement, if they are in the basement ill need 100% confirmation I can get in and get out with ya. If you are in basement and the gens are all lit, ill get a door open before getting you.

I go for real altruism - saving, but not into the killers face - better pulling him if he is on my heals and there is still time left for the surf. Stopped being altrusistic where it does not make sense when playing against hard camper - just do not like to feed those.

If it is already crowded at hook areas by ubersurvs I stick to gens... but I know how frustrating it is being on the hook and seeing all other survs stick to their gens... especially when all leftover survs work together on one gen. I better run for a rescue!

I also carry Empathy or Bond with me and seek injured survivors - every surv alive betters the chance of survival and escape! I never carry selfcare in return and let others heal me.

I have one general exeption on altruism: If someone lets me wait on purpose, I am not easily willing to help out later: If surv did not ready in the lobby or if he does not let me heal but prefer longer self heal, I might not be altrustic to them anymore except they are the only other surv left with me.

Why do you save survivors ? Because you care about their feelings and well being ? No because they help you with objectives and give you points ofc its selfish.
