Forkbeard, I play a lot of Elite: Dangerous with my HOTAS X while playing on Windows 10. I don't think blaming the OS will help at all since, other games work well. Including games that use this joystick.
Is there any way to include the profile for the Hotas X? Maybe you can contact Thrustmaster and ask them to help you put it into your game...
When your game launches, it doesn't recognize the HOTAS X, although it works partially. I can fly up and down, left or right... It's the throttle that it doesnt recognize.
The HOTAS X is usually PRETTY cheap, you can pick it up for like $35 in newegg.
The fact that you get any input at all suggests to me that the rebinding menu should probably work.
Sorry for the confusion, I was just frustrated that I couldn't help you. :)
I had tried this the other day. The throttle is difficult to configure there. BUT, I am going to give this another whirl and see if it works now. I will keep you posted.
I really appreciate you take the time to reply to me. I know how little time you must have specially on a weekend. But I want you to know I appreciate the thought and the time of you doing so.
I really want to play this game, I havent played much because the 360 Controller doesnt do it any justice.
=)
I gave the Controls menu a look. It's pretty difficult to configure it...
When I try to configure a button on the Flightstick, it doesnt recognize the button name so it calls it Positive A or Positive B, or Negative A or Negative B.
The Throttle, there is no way to configure it as it doesnt recognize the Throttle Up or Down from the HOTAS, I was able to only set a few buttons.
The other problem I was having was, that the Control Menu itself is not easy to scroll up and down, so at one point reaching the other values on the list, would rubberband up and not let me go down.
Good thing this game is on Alpha and all this constructive criticism is for the betterment of the game. Hopefully in a couple of versions down the line this can get fixed.
Also wanted to ask if you had an email I can write you to... I was looking in NewEgg and this joystik is for sale there, I'll buy it for you if it means it will help you fix the game.
Thanks!
At least it worked for my X-52 that way. Good luck with your stick!
Did you ever get your T.Flight HOTAS X to work with Sky Rogue?
My question is, Is this issue specific to all HOTAS, or just specific models?
For anyone who is using a typical Direct Input device ( Flightsticks,Wheels, older Dinput gamepads, ...) i would recommend to deactivate "Generic gampad configuration support "in the big picture mode.
The genric gamepad support is only meant for older twinstick gamepads.
Activating that option masks your generic controller as an Xbox 360 controller , which is counterproductive for flightsticks (unless you really need that for compatibility reasons).
Also please get rid of xbox controller button built ins, since A and B button doesn't exist on joystick and at least I expect them to be mapped to trigger (button 1) and thumb button (button 2)
