Thanks for this. Cured the OUT OF RANGE error :)
One problem I'm getting on the 'training' mission is that the characters' speech is being cut short. Any ideas what would be causing that?
I'm not terribly great with computers and not a huge gamer - I really want my game to work though. I have a new Asus Republic of Gamers computer. It has windows 10. It has problems with 7Days to Die (runs but I can only play on others worlds), and resolution issues with Vampire the Masquarade - Bloodlines. Issues with non Steam games - Battle net and World of Warcraft have trouble installing, so I'm not suprised that it has problems. I was thinking compatability issues, but I can't figure how to deal with compatibility with something that runs as a shortcut to a url. -? I'm lost.
Make a shortcut to following location (this is one single line):
You can change the affinity to whatever core you wish. I just pick "1" because it points to the second core (giving the ol' core 1 - affinity 0 - a bit of rest as it is used by almost everything else). It really doesn't matter however which one you chose.
And, still in the shortcut window, enter your game directory for the "start in" option:
Then select the game icon manually if you want. Easiest is to grab it from the cached version in your Steam directory:
Finally, under "advanced" at the bottom of the shortcut window, you can check the "Run as administrator" option. There is no possibility to pick compatibility options, disable DPI scaling etc. but I find that all that is not really necessary anyway.
My game is on my F: drive, but this will probaly be the C: drive for most others. It will only work if there are NO SPACES in the directory path however. The name of the game icon may also be different for you, but you can probably recognise it from the icon.
