CTF5 is a good map to move because of its huge spaces. You can try DDRACE too. Here is a great video guide: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XPnSli3UQOY

There is a clan that help new players to learn how to play named Off The Hook (.OtH'), take a look :)

I would recommend type DDrace. Look for "DDNet GER - Novice [DDRaceNetwork]" servers. There'r usually bunch of them. There'r a lot of maps scaling difficulty from 1 star to 5 stars. Do 1stars to begin with. Novice has 113 official maps, so have fun.

Already tried DDrace but got two questions.
1. Are there DDrace maps that can be finished by just 1 person? They seem to require at least 2 players.
2. How to deal with those people that keep trying to hammer you in the grey area?

1. You can download ddnet game client and connect 2 tees. By switching between them you will be able to play 2tee-maps. Also yes, there are solo maps. Server with them is called "Solo" instead of Novice. Also there's a type called "Dummy" where you connect 2nd tee with client and play solo, dragging full-freezed dummy through the map.
2. You can join team by writing /team N in chat before(!) you start run (before starting line). Thus nobody will be able to touch you except your teammates. To lock your team so unwanted people will not be able to join your team type /lock in chat.
