Review for first 2 hours
First as a note, I am playing on a friend's copy to decide if I buy it. If I like it by the 5th hour I will be purchasing a copy for myself (it is a deal we have, we each buy a game that we are both interested in and then steam share to see if it is worth us both owning).

Now, as for how I feel about the game. For a small dev team, it is very polished. It has beautiful graphics (sure it isn't AAA budget graphics, but it is among the best graphics I've seen from a small budget studio), the sound is top notch (both battle and the musical score). The animation is pretty smooth with the twitches being so minor as to almost not be worth mentioning them.

Unfortunately that is where the good ends for me (as of the 2 hour mark). The storyline is very JRPG esque, and while that may appeal to some people, I am not someone who is interested in playing an Anime (so take my view on the story with a grain of salt). The combat is what really let me down though. I honestly felt as though I was fighting training dummies the entire time. Sure they would swing every once and a while, and in large groups they may get a hit or two in on you if you aren't paying attention, but your attacks are lack luster and you barely do any damage to them. So it really feels as though you are just beating on a training dummy until you can manage to break it.

I do intend to keep going though, and I will write a new review once I hit the 5 hour mark. Perhaps the story and combat will have vastly improved by then.
