stuck early in the game

dont have the game for too long but im already stuck. i have wandered around wing 1 for a while and i fail to proceed. im stuck with figuring out about the codes for the paintings. i did manage the first one since it was clearly written on the painting it self but the rest i fail to find.
i alos have freed one person in prison but nothing has happened. i also killed a prisoner and nothing has happened.

i defeated the boss in wing 2 but cant proceed any thurder either. generally i feel lost in this game. like i missed out on a previous story.
some advise would help.

The majority of painting codes are non-essential, usually they are hidden in your notes. You can buy one from the merchant in the lobby, from the woman spirit and there is other you can obtain from the artist prissioner. Try to explore the other wings, the game is somehow non-linear so dont worry too much about missing something in the story or the number of the wing. You will progress eventually

i had a feeling that the code was hidden somewhere in the notes, buti simply could not figure out what word it could be and i was a bit lazy with reading.
wing 2 i know i cant proceed. havent tried wing 3 yet. but i have reached the puppet muster. only he kicked my butt so far.

You are welcome. Try not to kill any prisoner, they are the triggers of side missions and rewards.

If you want to finish Wing 1, solve at least one picture puzzle to open the way to the boss chamber. Once there, you need at least 3 memories to summon him.

unfortunately i did kill one in the prison and freed the couple, since i wasnt sure what to do.

now iam at the end boss but havent defeated him yet. i never had that much trouble defeating a boss. im lucky when i nearly reach half of his health. even when evading his attacks, it still hits me for some reason. regadless if im far away.
really aggravated with this crap.
