Crappie (Crappy) Achievement
I found that I had about 40 crappie already caught (purely by accident when newb farming for cash in Texas) and that 50 would get me 2 BaitCoins and an achievement. Why not?

It turns out that there is little info on this forum for reliable Crappie bait. Well, it is a panfish, so there are a lot of other little players horning in on anything you throw at it. I tried numerous different methods but always ended up relying on RNG to get me a crappie once every 10 or 15 fish. FFS, I started having flashbacks of Bluegill Skeleton fishing; after a few hours fishing I was ready to buy halloween candy for bait.

Anyway, I was down to 2 fish needed and finally tried small minnows on a number 4 hook. Instaly 2 crappie hooked.

Thought I'd share. Maybe now I can actually go for the next crapppie achievement...

hello, a few days ago i just finished getting the crappie annihilator 3 archivement (the one after crappie master 3) in texas, using my smallest spinning setup (Featherlight 215) and #2 jighead with 5cm tubes.

fishing only by night, go to the middle-right side of the bridge (looking to the bigger portion of the lake) and try casting to the right side, aim close to the shore in 40-50 m range (full power cast), speed 1 twitching (hold the reel in button -or key- and every 1 second or less press the right mouse button -as using a popper/walker).

in that "line" you can pass for a few spawnning spots and at least 90% of bites are crappies, only a few spotted bass and bluegills comes from time to time. took me a few game nights, but the crappie bite rate was higher than by daytime.

have fun!

I checked it out and both the method and the location wwere repeatable.

9:00 - 10:35 PM; used a 3lb Ultralight spinning rig with 1/10oz. #2 jighead and a 2" Salt & Pepper Tube. Caught 10 fish as a random sampling and confirmed 8 were Crappie. 80% success rate!

nice, im sure that some players can use our info too ;)

this archivements dont pay too much... but when im tired of farming cash, i check the list and just target one near to complete..

now im after the "catfish god 3" (im 845/1000 atm) and found a good spot in michigan, small cats (brown bullheads), all time (day and night) fast and easy targets using cheap baits..

if you want to try that later (setup and spot): https://imgur.com/a/6rDYWgr

after that one i will go for "perch captain 3" (500/1000 for now) and as michigan have that targets too, im sure that i will find that sweet spot that is waiting for me...

well, thats all for now.

good luck! :)

EDIT: Updating info after a total of 50 Crappie caught. During the last night, bites dropped off and I noticed that it was a cloudy night. Changed to a darker tube (Pumpkin) and the bites came back solid.

46 out of 50 fish were Crappie; that is a 92% hit ratio with this method.
