Florida Tarpon Equipment Help
I'm lvl 32 looking for help getting the correct setup to catch Tarpon.

I don't have too much trouble hooking them with crankbait if I'm there at the right time of the day and the weather cooperates. My issue is actually landing them. Most of the time, I'll fight them for 15 min or so, taking me out nearly 300ft where we go back and forth until the game tires of toying with me and sends them back, straight at me until I lose them due to low line tension.

Any suggestions for a setup that might keep up with them? Or at least give me a better shot?

i catch em with a float setup. 9kg rod, 9.5kg reel, 9kg line. large minnows, hook 6/0, 100cm depth. catch them between 40-60meters out. look for the circles in the water

When you buy your rod/reel setup i always get the fastest recovery to avoid low tension runners. Otherwise, you can max out your line and haul most of them in with a 30lb setup.

Float setup as mentioned above. Shiners or shrimp, 3/0 hook about 40 inches deep. You tube vids will help. Good luck!
