New Location suggestion: New Zealand
Kia Ora, hello!

I don't know if it's just me, but the shortage of southern hemisphere maps feels like an unexplored canvas for all sorts of fish to find and catch. There's plenty of great threads on here about Australia, in particular, Queensland. In my view, A Queensland map would give Kaji No Ri some well earned competition, and spice up the saltwater fishing scene.

For today, I'd like to pose something different: New Zealand. One of NZ's biggest tourism attractions is the diverse landscapes one can explore in a small area, with a diverse range of fish, introduced and native to the country. I would argue it would make for an interesting location for either fresh or saltwater fishing. A map with both would be interesting, like how the Everglades and Blue Crab Island can be divided into fresh and saltwater, but not a deal breaker.

Freshwater Fishing in particular would be interesting, as it would introduce fish families that aren't normally seen on the same map: Salmon and Trout, and Carp. While San Joaquin has Steelheads, Chinooks and Common Carp, a hypothetical NZ freshwater map could boast Rainbow, Brook & Brown Trout, Chinook, Atlantic & Sockeye Salmon, and Tenches, Common, Silver & Grass Carp, and that's just three "Families" as the wiki classes them. With only 2 eels in the game, the Electric and European eels, a freshwater NZ map could add 3 to the roster: The Shortfin (Anguilla australis), the Longfin (A. dieffenbachii) and newly introduced Australian Longfin (A. reinhardtii).

My favourite part of finding a new map in Fishing Planet is catching all of the species, from young to unique, getting a feel for where each fish thrives, experimenting and trying to find them myself before asking the in game chat. A wide variety of fish would make for an engaging map, one where I can target a new species if I'm tired of catching one without having to pack my bags and leave: Something I love Dnipro and Saint Croix for.

If this is something you'd be interested in, have things you'd add, or if you don't like this idea at all, I'm happy to hear people's thoughts, and considering how often Australia has been mentioned, but hasn't been added, I'm aware that an NZ map is a long shot.
