Spin Reel or Cast Reel?

Was wondering what reel i should get? i mainly fish for bass and have started trying to get some pike, which type of reel would you recommend? why?

you can catch both species with both type of rod/reel. cast reels are more stable against high torque but slower cause of higher transmission ratio than spin reels.
so spin reels are more reliable if you need a faster spin, like twitching or lifting, where you'll need fast and bendy gear.

cause of this i'll catch my pikes with slow spinning and bass with mixed techniques with a casting rod/reel.

but overall you can catch nearly every fish with both sort of reels/rods.
