Few more info needed ?
Your net size ?
Your preferred fishing method ? lure or bobber ?
Your current bank account ?
How many minutes/hours do you plan to play the game for each time you log in ?
Where have you been you disliked so much you would want to stay in Texas or NY ?

Because if everythings line up and you have done things right... to me obvious answer is Oregon... but jump there too quickly without appropriate gear... may also bring you back long time in Texas...

Also in 1 lvl you will be able to go Florida... but again... not without appropriate gear.

Well I see major thing here... very dangerous balance... I hope you truely understand what you are doing... wrong key, bad timing, many things can go wrong with that....

Anyway, due to your statements, I would really go Oregon when you have 8-9k
now to reach those ? personally lately I have done multiple 30 minutes stints on very small casting spoons (#1 & #2) in Texas, and in 30 minutes made 10kg of spotted bass and pikerells...
so about 1500 - 1600 credits in 30 minutes without wasting any money...
it's not fun for some (I had fun because I chose to do it not because I had to...) or it can be a pain... but as much as I love some lower places... I still think that either Texas due to no costs or NY due to very low costs are your 2 best options before Oregon...

Oregon will suit your gear though if you don't specificall yaim at big browns... Some trophies will still give you a real fight... a 30kg net isn't ideal though.... 50 would be, BUT 30kg is enough to make good money in Oregon.... while you may be a bit short in Florida with about everything...

So head to Oregon... fish trouts until you can't stand them anymore... 4-5-6-7 days, even more...
look at the general store BEFORE you head to Oregon....
Take notes on all the things you'll need to have for Florida... know the target money wou'll need to buy what you want/need for next step... and have enough to spend for next trip + licence + 2 days...

I have seen far many players head back because they were bored of a place, just to realize they miss 3k credits to buy this or that... and have somewhat "wasted" money on a trip that could have been maximised way better... and even worse.... come back to exact same place 10 minutes later.... just don't... you need your hard earned credits...

Plan cerafully, look at everything... not only rod/reel... but THE most important... YOUR NET, but you may also want to add a bit on your lures collection... see what you need for next lake... and make truely way enough to get all that + a safety blanket... currently, with 5k... you have next to none honnestly...

don't forget medium spoon 1/0 and narrow spoon 1/0. get the bigger version of medium (3/0) as well if you aim at big trophies and/or uniques.
But 1/0 will be your major catches all day long...
nano spinners and spinning spoons 1/0 as well
Many many many other things... (I also enjoy shads 7cm with 2/0 hooks)
but well I guess you know how/what ;-)
Maybe get yourself a jigwinner too ?? nice long casts if you like them... or feather light on shorter casts...

Gratz, amazing farm you did here. tight lines in Oregon
