It started out with me loosing a lure from a mission. Instantly I thought "maybe I accidently hit max drag"? Because I wasnt really paying attention to the screen, was just reeling and right clicking while watching hockey on the other monitor.
So right after I equipped another lure to see my drag, and well, it was still at #7.
So I tested it, and sure enough, same thing happened, the stress on the line was "too high" and it broke.
I then sent a mail to support, hoping I get my lure back, even said I tested it out again and pointing out that something with the specs on either the reel or line is wrong.
But no, the answer was a "118 kg tuna".
So I tested it again, did a recording to really show what I meant that the specs is "wrong". But nope.. Still a 118 kg tuna.
Now I have tested it on various lines using various drag settings, all less than what the line "should" take, but same results. Even managed to break a rod that "should" be within the limit.
To my conclusion the reel has to have AT LEAST 72 kg max drag, because I managed to break a 45 kg mono line while using drag setting #5.
#5 "should" be 41.25 kg drag force, meaning I "should" have 3.75 kg in safety margin.
My point is that the setup is "balanced" and all within limits, the line "shouldnt" break unless there is a fish biting it off, or if it gets "spooled". Definitely not breaking beacause you have a big fish on, while fishing with the correct settings, so something is wrong regarding the reel specifications.
And as I said previously, my first thought was that I accidentally hit max drag, and therefor I directly after it happened equipped another lure to check my drag setting and it was still on #7.
And as I also said, I have tried it again and managed to replicate the issue, multiple times. The specs on the reel is wrong.
And even tho I provided this video instantly to the support, their answer was still "The fish was 118.5 kg and it created a weight of 181.5 kg", and they failed to see the issue here.
For what it matters, the fish could generate a weight of 1800kg, and it would still not matter as long as I have the drag (break) on the reel set to 57.75 kg, as that means it should release line as soon as the generated drag (weight) goes above that limit, that is what the drag/break is for.
