How to effectively troll with friends?

Whenever trolling with friends (in Kaiji No Ri obviously), say if one of us gets a fish hooked, the boat has to be stopped so it's much easier to catch the fish, but then the other person is left without the effect of trolling, and has to either wait, use bottom rods, or cast and reel it in, basically use it as a spinning rod. Is there any strategy to avoid this, or..

No way with 3 or 4 in the boat.
Best way is with 2 only, both are captains and take turns at the helm that way fishing is shared. Both fish when fish on the other drives the boat and vice- versa.
Also if others are lower levels they just want to fish not drive.

Once you found a good place to fish, you may let the boat drive in a circle with low velocity. So everyone can continue with trolling all the time. That´s the only possibility to avoid the described problems.

Thats how it works in real life too. Once your gear is higher level you can judge whether or not you need to stop the boat each time. Sometimes the fish can be reeled in without stopping depending on what you hook and the size. What we do is when a person gets a fish on they hollar "Fish on", then whoever has the fish on, determines if they can gain on the fish while still moving, if they can't then they ask the driver to stop the boat.
We catch a lot that can be reeled without stopping (fairly quickly), the ones that give a struggle we stop.
A lot of times if you are in a hot spot, even as you stop others will get strikes as their lure falls to the bottom. So yeah, cast and reel when you come to a stop.

Until they change this mission I can confidently say I'll never complete it. I play solo and I won't be standing doing ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ on my £50 DLC boat while someone else catches fish that probs doesn't own that boat DLC. It's almost like this is implemented to give people that don't buy the boat dlc a way to complete their mission? I don't know.. it's a stupid mission.
