Nile perch on Congo nerfed since yesterday?

I had 2 last night after server reset, I'm visiting Congo after a year break and it's way different, for the one trophy perch fight like unique and unique takes like 2hr game time to land and it takes 10% reel damage just to land 1.

Yeah sure, land the fish become longer and harder than before, but I mean the spawn rate of uniques and trophies seem drastically changed since yesterday. At least with my set fishing setup.

I just now left Congo. Was there for several game days, no issue with Uni Nile Perch or Goliath Tigerfish.

Since the release of the Ocean DLC they have nerfed the Nile Chasseur rod, created specifically for Nile perch fishing. the Nile Chasseur with his reel, are no longer of any use. It's a nerf created to get people to buy the ocean dlc. Fp = Pay to play

Agree left ocean map to come to Congo trophies galore and a few unis rest of the room catching yellow font also.

Most people who say they have no issue with the Congo have already bought one of the japan DLCs and they have no issue with coming back and catching the big Nile Perch because the new "super strong" gear makes it easy to pull them in. In fact, they do it with little to no effort. However, anyone buying the Congo DLC today is now in for a big surprise. Since they nerfed the max reel thingy, all the big fish have become much harder to catch, and you will not be able to level up as quickly as before. In summary, I feel sorry for those lower level players who bought the new Japan DLCs. Now, it is almost guaranteed their access time will expire before they reach level 83.

TBH I do not use the new Japan DLC gear at the Congo I still do use the Congo rods be useless using ocean map rods wouldn’t get any xp.

I don't own either Ocean DLC. I have been fishing Congo with my Nile Chassuer, just as I always have. I am almost level 85. I did buy a level 84 spinning rod when I unlocked it, to try it out. But it gave a little less xp. I guess because of strength? So I went back to my Nile Chassuer.

I just tried and I thought I had big trophy on the hook it took more than in-game hour hour to reel it in using NileChasseur 200 with GiantSpin 10000 reel, but I landed regular size 76.59 kg - 169lbs Nile Perch.

So far 1 regular and 2 baby perch, keep going

The "nerfed" max reel thingy has been a thingy for a while now. I didn't have an issue after they changed it. It just took a little longer to land fish. Adapt and overcome or whine and cry about it. Whichever one works for you I guess.

No whining from me Oozie. I am enjoying the new map in a rental boat. So, I guess you would say I adapted, right Oozie?

I have now fished the Congo for 14 days a day (4-5 hours). Always at the same spot with 4 Mokonzi 360 from the shore.

None of the updates have made any difference to the catch rate in the Congo. Neither with the tigers nor with the Nile perch.

No, still the same, I catch uni goliath uni tiger and uni nile every in game days. today my level is already 90
